Have you ever reacted in the moment… and wished you had responded differently?

In this upcoming episode of Optimize Her2, Barbara E. Ringrose and LaQuincia Nichols sit down with Madhuri Garigipati of Path2Courage for a powerful conversation about emotional regulation, calm communication, confidence, clarity, and what it means to lead from a grounded place.

So many high-achieving women are carrying careers, families, expectations, cultural pressure, and the invisible weight of trying to do everything well.

But when we are stretched too thin, it becomes harder to communicate clearly, lead confidently, and stay connected to who we really are.

Madhuri shares practical insight on how to pause, recognize your emotions, and respond with intention instead of reacting from stress.

Screen time is not just about devices. It’s where daily arguments start for many families.

What begins as “5 more minutes” often turns into:
Ignoring limits
Repeated reminders
Parents getting frustrated or giving in
Most approaches focus on stricter rules or cutting access. That works briefly, then the same pattern comes back.

The real shift is in how you respond in the moment so it doesn’t escalate.

I’m hosting a live 60-minute workshop this Sunday where I’ll walk through exactly what to say and do in those situations.

You’ll learn:
How to respond without triggering an argument
How to set boundaries that actually hold
How to get cooperation without constant reminders

Sunday, April 26 | 10:00 AM PST | Live on Zoom

If this is something you’re dealing with, comment SUMMER or message me and I’ll send you the details.

When you see a B, C, or D on your child's progress report, what emotions surface?

For one parent, seeing a few late assignments instantly triggered thoughts about scholarships, college, and their child's entire future.

It's our nervous system reacting to perceived threats, but how we communicate that stress to our kids matters.

If this resonated, this is exactly what we work through inside Calm Connected Parent.

When your teen shuts down instead of talking…

This is one of the hardest moments for parents.

You want to help.
You want them to open up.
But anything you say seems to push them further away.

Over time, this turns into:
– silence
– frustration
– or repeated arguments

Most parents I speak to say:
“I know what I should do… but in that moment, I react.”

That’s exactly where the real challenge is.

I’ve created the **Calm Connected Parent 4-week program** to help parents handle these moments differently — calmly, without losing connection or lowering expectations.

If this feels familiar, this is your next step.

When one area of life is in crisis, everything at home can start to feel hard.

Work. Aging parents. Health. Grief. It all comes with you into parenting.

In this short workshop clip, I share:

Why it feels like you’re constantly “stretching” yourself

How your beliefs about success impact your parenting

Why becoming an Empowered Parent is a mindset shift, not a quick fix

This is a core part of what we do inside CCPG (Calm Connected Parenting Group) — giving you tools, language, and support so you’re not carrying it all alone.

Save this if it resonates, and share it with a parent who is quietly holding a lot right now.

We rush to correct our children, especially when they're teenagers. But human connection comes first. Prioritize understanding before attempting to guide.

Most parents try to solve the problem first.

But teens often regulate themselves when we regulate ourselves first.

When we approach them from a calm place, their inner intelligence surfaces and they begin solving the problem themselves.

In this video, I share 3 key takeaways that can immediately shift how we respond to our teens:

1️⃣ Naming emotions builds connection and clarity
2️⃣ The stories we tell shape belonging
3️⃣ Emotional granularity is a courage skill

When you and your teen can name emotions with more clarity, connection deepens and conflict softens.

Already 115 families have signed up for tomorrow’s workshop — and I’m truly grateful.
