HAVING A VISION.
The Duluth Traverse is the result of a shared vision that Cyclists of Gitchee Gumee Shores - COGGS and the City of Duluth has for a multi-use, singletrack trail that is purpose-built for mountain biking and completely traverses the entire length of the City of Duluth.
Consisting of mostly flowing beginner-level singletrack, the DT connects extensive and more difficult trail networks in clusters at Lester Park, Hartley Park, Piedmont-Brewer Park, Spirit Mountain and Mission Creek.
The Duluth Traverse race is about 45 miles in length. It consists of about 3750 feet of climbing and descending.
For the safety of all, we will be implementing a 9 hour event cut off time. This means no finishers after 7:00 pm.

On September 9th, 2023 the inaugural Race Across Duluth (RAD) is happening! We’re so excited to showcase some of Duluth’s finest mountain bike trails in this epic point-to-point race along the iconic Duluth Traverse.
ALL ARE WELCOME! Come experience an unforgettable day on 45 miles of beautiful urban singletrack, beginning at Lester Park on Duluth’s east end and finishing on the far west end at Chambers Grove Park. And don’t forget to stick around afterwards to celebrate with fellow riders down at Ursa Minor Brewing.
All proceeds from the race will be donated to Cyclists of Gitchee Gumee Shores - COGGS.
