Next up is the incredible Laura Van Riper!

Based in Minneapolis, MN, Laura is a talented choreographer and costume designer. She teaches at Larkin Dance Studio and is the founder of LVR Designs Dancewear.

As a young dancer, Laura honed her skills in Minnesota under the mentorship of Julia Levina. She earned a B.S. in Apparel Design from the University of Minnesota. Following her graduation, Laura relocated to New York City to pursue her passion for the arts, working alongside designer Wes Gordon and teaching at the Summer Dance Program at Ballet Academy East.

Laura has showcased her talent with Benefit Cosmetics on E! Fashion Police, participated in The Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Dance Challenge, and toured as a dance photographer with Break The Floor Productions.

She firmly believes that with clear intention, discipline, and integrity, anything is achievable.

This season, she’ll also be choreographing a few routines! We’re excited to have you back, Laura!

Next up! Joining us at IDC for our summer intensive is Charliz Heimerman, a talented native of Blaine, Minnesota, and the owner of Charliz Balicao Dance Company (CBDC). With a wealth of experience in the dance industry, she has worked with high school dance teams, studio dancers, collegiate programs, and professional performers.

Charliz’s dance journey began with 15 years of training at Larkin Dance Studio, which led her to become a member of The University of St. Thomas Dance Team from 2019 to 2020. During her college years, she played a key role in securing two national championship titles in jazz and hip-hop.

From 2021 to 2024, Charliz danced professionally with the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders, performing in halftime shows alongside renowned artists such as Flo Rida, T-Pain, Ludacris, Wyn Starks, Young Gravy, Hairball, and Tyler Hubbard. In addition to performing, she choreographed multiple productions, showcase performances, audition pieces, and on-field routines for the organization.

Simultaneously, from 2020 to 2022, Charliz was the Assistant Varsity Jazz and JV Kick Coach for the Benilde-St. Margaret’s Dance Team, where she mentored young athletes both technically and personally, contributing to the program’s growth and success.

Currently, she serves as a choreographer for the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders and is the Coach and Creative Director of the Minnesota Twins Rally Dancers. Charliz remains dedicated to developing confident, well-rounded performers while inspiring the next generation of dancers.

We’re excited to welcome Alan “Cyx” Wynne to Imperium Dance Company for our 2026 Summer Intensives!
With over 25 years of experience, Cyx has built an incredible career as a choreographer, performer, creative director, and educator. His accomplishments include multiple National Championship-winning routines, performances on major stages, and judging dance competitions across the country.
We’ve had the opportunity to know Cyx as a competition judge, and his energy, passion, and genuine love for helping dancers grow made bringing him to IDC an easy decision. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, ridiculously talented, and an absolute blast in the studio. (And let’s be honest... the man’s got style. 😎)

Solo, duet, and trio choreography is in full swing, and we're excited for everything this season has in store.

Every new season brings a fresh opportunity to challenge ourselves, set new goals, and continue raising the standard. Behind every routine are countless hours of hard work, trust, determination, and a commitment to becoming just a little better each day.

At Imperium, we believe competitive dance is about pursuing excellence—not just in results, but in preparation, perseverance, teamwork, and personal growth. Every dancer's journey is different, and that's what makes each accomplishment meaningful.
