One of the things that makes our academy different is that progress isn’t measured by attendance and skill alone. We believe promotions should reflect who you’re becoming—not just what you can do.

That’s why we evaluate every student through our Three Pillars of Promotion:

Physical (Body) – Building endurance, movement, flexibility, balance, and agility. Putting in the work trying to adapt to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Mental (Mind) – Development technical skill, practical application technique, self-defense knowledge, mental toughness, and self-control. Knowing the importance of control and being strong mentally and physically.

Spiritual (Soul) – Demonstrating compassion, dedication, character, respect, and being the kind of teammate who makes everyone around them better.

It’s earned. Never given.

At Inner Strength Martial Arts we are recognized thru IBJJF, USBJJF, and JJGF as well as being ranked under Master Chewy Ybarra. Belts are earned and we make people work hard for their achievements....it's not dependent on competition records or trophies.

I hadn't seen one of my students in a little while, so I reached out to check on him. He told me that by the time he gets to class after work, he'd be about 10 minutes late.
I said, "Brother, how many times do I have to tell you? I'd rather you show up late than not show up at all."
That's just the kind of person he is. He wants to be on time, and if he can't be on time, he'd rather not come. But to every student reading this, please don't think that way.
Life happens. Work runs late. Traffic is unpredictable. Kids get sick. I don't care if you're 5 minutes late, 10 minutes late, or even 20 minutes late. Just come.
I'd much rather see your face for part of class than not see you at all.

Congratulations to Noah on receiving his 3rd Stripe on his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu White Belt at Inner Strength Martial Arts in Duluth Minnesota. Noah has really been dedicating himself to his training and improving his craft. We are proud of how far he has come. Congratulations to Luke on receiving his 2nd Stripe on his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu White Belt at Inner Strength Martial Arts in Duluth Minnesota. Luke has been training hard for a year now and is gearing towards his first MMA fight on October 17 in Superior Wisconsin at Superior MMA Mania. We are proud of how far Luke has come. Sky is the limit.

We have 3 incredible TITLE FIGHTS on the card including the 170 lb Pankration Title between Champion Cody Galloway of Minnesota taking on Challenger Rowdy Hermann out of Team Ironworks in Lacrosse Wisconsin. Both of these guys are terrific fighters and will definitely be a fast paced fight.

Saturday October 17th Superior MMA Mania comes to the Superior Curling Club with an incredible lineup of 20-30 Fights on the card. We are starting the fights earlier than usual for you the fans. The doors open at 3:00 and the fights start at 4:00

We highlighted our Main Event this week between Antonio Orlando and Justin Nowak for the 155 lb Title. We also have an incredible Co-Main Event for the 170 lb Title.

We have Tyler McKnight coming from Milwaukee Wisconsin to take on Daelon Trigg of Minneapolis Minnesota. Both these guys are incredible strikers with an exciting ground game both coming from great gyms. This Fight will be fireworks and could be fight of the night.
