One of these can be yours! You don't even have to show up! But yeah, you kind of do. Show up and have a lot of fun, get a little muddy, get a little tired (a couple times), feel a great sense of accomplishment when you cross the finish line, find one of those beers and brats, and then hang out with all of your fellow runners at Bangin' in the Brush! Only 4 days away!

Korkki Community, help us out! We have great faith in the creativity of our ski community, and here is a (hopefully) simple ask of the crowd....
We are planning a Korkki work day and event sometime in 2027 for a little extra beautification of the trails, but we are really, sadly, and unreasonably caught up on what to call it...so we need suggestions! Post ideas in the comments, short and catchy is great! We reserve the right to be completely judgy when choosing what to call it, but credit will be given where due. Aaaaaand GO!

Well looky there, just under a month away from Bangin' in the Brush.l! Trail is cleared and mowed, and nice and dry.. or is it? September 19th, the Northland's best 10k, come check it out!

It may be early May, but time to start thinking about Bangin' time! Saturday September 19th, it's the best, muddiest, toughest, most-fun 10k on the Shore!! Bangin' in the Brush will have the usual food, fun, swag, and excitement. Set your calendar, and lace up your shoes!

It's spring skiing.

The 5K loop today offered it's expected mix of debris, icy crusty snow, more-than-occasional deep pole plants, and a classic track that was more of a suggestion in many places. That said, between the 4K and 5K cutoff the trail and striding was an 8 out of 10, likely for the last time this season unless we see a drastic pattern shift. With quickly deteriorating conditions, and a mix of rain and warm temperatures coming through the weekend, extreme caution is needed on the trails. Some equipment challenges have brought grooming efforts to a quick halt. It was a fine season for the couple months it lasted. Perhaps sustained surprise snow in later March...?

****RACE CANCELLATION****. Despite the best efforts of our crew, the Eric Judeen 10K classic race for tomorrow has been canceled. 2 days of warm up have left us with very solid dangerous icy conditions. Trails remain open but ski with great caution. Warmer temperatures next week should make the snow a little more workable.
