**Thank You to Everyone Who Made the 2026 Fishing With Kids Event a Success**
After the dust settled, we ended the 2026 Fishing With Kids event with a total of **356 participants**. That number represents more than just kids at a lake — it represents the hard work, generosity, and dedication of an entire community.
We want to take this opportunity to thank all of our **sponsors**, our **day‑of‑the‑event volunteers**, and the entire **organizing committee** who worked throughout the year to make this event possible. It takes a large team to bring this together. Planning begins early each year as we reach out to sponsors, collect donations, order T‑shirts, purchase food and drinks, and gather the abundance of prizes that make this day so special. Everything is delivered to the State Park for that one big day, where food is cooked on‑site and hundreds of prizes are awarded — all made possible through community donations.
And the best part: **everything is free** to every child and family who shows up.
Mike often receives the thank‑yous, but he would be the first to say that it’s the 40‑plus volunteers working behind the scenes all year long who make this event what it is. Their dedication is what brings it all together.
We work year‑round, and we will begin preparing for the **2027 event in late July**. The effort never stops, and neither does the commitment of this community.
So if you helped in any way — whether you donated, sponsored, cooked, organized, set up, cleaned up, or worked behind the scenes — this thank‑you is for you. **Because of you, 356 kids had a great day yesterday.**
