This morning, Chauffeur Eric Kopa of the Scranton Fire Department and Leslie Kopa, Director of Aquatics at the Greater Scranton YMCA, completed the 9/11 Stair Climb in observance of Patriot Day.

Leslie and Eric climbed 110 floors on the Stairmaster in full fire gear to honor the victims and heroes of September 11th, 2001. The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation developed the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb challenge not only to remember the sacrifice of fallen FDNY firefighters, but also to symbolically complete their selfless and heroic journey up 110 flights of the World Trade Center to save others. These climbs help the Foundation to create and maintain programs that support Fire Hero Families and firefighters by providing assistance to the surviving families and coworkers of the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice that day.

We're proud to recognize Rehab for their 19th Hole Sponsorship of the 7th Annual Harry P. McGrath Golf Tournament and Dinner Celebration!

Proceeds from the event benefit our Summer Learning Loss Prevention Program, Summer Scholars, which serves rising 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders from the Dunmore and MidValley School Districts.

📣Calling all Community Partners! The Greater Scranton YMCA will be hosting our Annual Trunk-or-Treat event on Wednesday, October 21st! We are inviting local families, businesses, organizations, and partners to participate by sponsoring a trunk!

Sponsors can decorate their trunks, don their spookiest and silliest costumes, and share treats with children in our community! 👻🍬🎃
