ONE YEAR STRONG. 🥊🧡

Today we got to celebrate Selina’s one-year anniversary with our DMAF family!

Over the past year, she has grown, pushed herself, stepped outside her comfort zone, and given her time to help others along the way.

But somewhere in that year, something else happened too…

She became family.

Selina, we are so proud of the young woman you are becoming and so grateful that you are part of Dunnellon Martial Arts & Fitness.

One year down — and we can’t wait to see where you go from here. 💙🧡🥊

WOW, DUNNELLON. ❤️🥊

Tonight’s Community Open House was absolutely incredible, and we are so grateful to everyone who came out and supported us.

Our Kids Class celebrated Bring a Friend Day and welcomed 12 new kids onto the mats! We also had around 10 adults come through to check out the gym, and some of them even jumped in and trained with us tonight.

Kids filled the mats. Families filled the sidelines. New faces walked through our doors. And some of them were training right alongside us before the night was over.

But what happened here tonight was about more than a busy gym.

At Dunnellon Martial Arts & Fitness, we believe we are more than a gym.

Dunnellon is only as strong as the families who make up this community, and we believe in building:

🥊 Strong bodies that keep us active and healthy
🧠 Strong minds built through discipline, confidence and perseverance
🤝 Strong relationships where people encourage, support and show up for one another

A strong community is made up of people who are willing to be there for each other.

And tonight, Dunnellon showed up.

Thank you to every family, friend, neighbor and new face who walked through our doors. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to show you who we are, what we believe in, and what we are working to build right here in Dunnellon.

What does it really take to build a strong community?
It takes more than simply living in the same town.

It takes people showing up for one another.
Encouraging each other.
Doing hard things together.
Learning how to keep going when things get difficult.

There’s something powerful that happens when you’re training beside someone and you’re both pushing yourselves not to quit.
You understand their struggle because you’re struggling too.

You encourage them to keep going while you’re also reminding yourself to keep going.
And somewhere in that shared effort, relationships get deeper.

Then those relationships begin to extend far beyond the gym.

When one of our members is sick or in the hospital, people check on them.
When someone is going through something with their family, their job, or life in general, people step up.
We celebrate each other’s wins, support each other through difficult seasons, and keep building each other up.

That’s community.

Whether it’s our kids learning discipline, serving others and finding a place to belong, or adults becoming stronger physically, mentally and relationally, we want Dunnellon Martial Arts & Fitness to be a place that helps make our entire community stronger.

Because a strong community isn’t just made up of strong individuals.

It’s made up of people who make each other stronger.

We’ll have food, beverages and plenty of good company.

HOPE Day 1 is officially in the books! 🧡💙

Our very first HOPE Homeschool Program day was such a success. The kids learned, moved, laughed, made new friends, completed their beginning assessments, and got their first taste of the countries, cultures and martial arts we’ll be exploring throughout the year.

The best part? They were already talking about how much fun they had. 🥹

HOPE is built around movement, learning, confidence, character and real-world experiences — and this is only the beginning.

Limited spots are still open!
Step Up scholarships are accepted.

And if interest continues to grow, we’ll be opening a second HOPE day so more families can join us.

H.O.P.E. STARTS SEPTEMBER 9! 🧡

Homeschool parents — especially those of you with older kids — I want you to know what we’re actually doing during those four hours every Wednesday.

This isn’t just a place to hang out.

We’re learning real anatomy. Real first aid. Geography, cultures and history. Practical life skills. Physical fitness. And basic self-defense.

We’re giving homeschool students meaningful learning experiences that can become part of the education you’re already building at home — while giving them something that’s sometimes harder to create at the kitchen table: movement, confidence, friendships and community.

And this year, Kids Martial Arts Class is INCLUDED with H.O.P.E.! 🥊

H.O.P.E. begins Wednesday, September 9.
