Mental Health Awareness WOD
Mental Health Awareness month is in May…
Let’s Talk About It.
We train our bodies.
We track our macros.
We chase PRs.
We push our bodies to be the best version of themselves.
But how often do we check in on mental health?
Mental health isn’t just a buzzword…
It’s a crisis hiding in plain sight.
Here are some numbers that should stop us in our tracks:
More than half of adults with a mental health disorder receive no treatment at all.
In 2024, 14.3 million adults reported serious thoughts of su***de, and 2.2 million actually attempted it.
Nearly 49,000 people died by su***de in 2024 alone. That’s one every 11 minutes.
Su***de is the 2nd leading cause of death for people ages 10–34.
About half of those who die by su***de had no known diagnosis at the time of their death. Meaning many people are suffering silently, never getting help.
This Saturday, May 30th, we’re doing something about it. CrossFit Dunwoody is hosting a Mental Health Awareness Workout because movement heals, community heals, and showing up for each other matters.

Getting in a good workout doesn’t have to be complicated. Some days we focus on skill work and learn something new. Other days we keep it simple and just put in the work. Either way, you leave better than you came in. If you’ve been putting off coming in because it feels like too much — it doesn’t have to be.

STARTING TOMORROW!
The next 4 weeks we are will be working through a program we’ve put together to target strict gymnastics pulling.
The plan is specifically designed to help athletes towards their first strict pull-up. If you already have strict pull-ups, we designed options for you to develop your strict C2B, or add load to your weighted pull-up. Video clips are being uploaded to Wodify today to demonstrate the specific drills we will be using. Please watch these before coming to class if you’re able.
We want to encourage virtuosity in the pull up- rather than just “getting through” the work. This is an opportunity to build/expand your base. We will use this base to move into kippjng gymnastic development later in the year. Excited for this!
