What a turnout yesterday for the Corral Open!

Thank you to the 84 golfers who came out yesterday, and to everyone who supported the fundraiser through raffles, donations, volunteering, and everything else that goes into making a day like this happen.

We really could not have asked for better weather, and once again this community showed up in a big way for a local cause.

A huge thank you to Corral Bar and Riverside Grill and Sharon Berger for all the work that goes into putting this tournament together. From our side of things, this one is always a well-oiled machine and one of the smoothest tournaments we host each year. That doesn’t happen by accident.

It was a great day of golf, a great fundraiser, and another reminder of how fortunate we are to have a community that continues to support its own.

It’s going to be a beautiful day for today’s Corral Open! ⛳️

We have a full field of 88 golfers ready to go at Rolling Greens today!

If you missed out on getting into the tournament, you can still be part of the fundraiser through the raffles. Raffle tickets will be available at Rolling Greens until around 11:30 AM, then they’ll head back down to Corral Bar and Riverside Grill for another opportunity to participate.

This year’s Corral Open is raising money for infrastructure updates at the Durand-Arkansaw High School gym, including scoreboard and shot clock upgrades as schools prepare for the changing WIAA basketball rules.

The WIAA has approved limited use of a 35-second shot clock beginning this season, with possible full implementation being discussed for the future.

Our bees gave us something new to learn yesterday. 🐝

When I checked the hive in the afternoon, there were thousands of bees covering the front, hanging underneath, and even clustering up near the roof. I had never seen anything like it, and my first thought was that something might be wrong.

After doing a little digging, I learned they were bearding. When a hive gets hot and crowded, bees will move outside to help regulate the temperature and airflow inside.

Then this morning, after things cooled down, almost all of them were back inside.

This is our third nuc, and the first two never really got established, so seeing this colony this active, bringing in pollen, and building some real strength feels pretty encouraging.

Still learning as we go, and honestly, that might be one of my favorite parts of having them out here. 🐝🌼⛳

This would be a great addition for local students. 🎳

Club TEN Bar & Grill is working to start a Durand–Mondovi high school bowling team, and they need enough interest to make it happen.

No bowling experience is needed, just students willing to give it a try and be part of something new.

If you know a Durand or Mondovi student who might be interested, please share this with them or their family.

🎳 Could high school bowling be coming to Durand and Mondovi?

Club TEN is working to launch a Durand–Mondovi high school bowling co-op during the current school year!

This would be a completely new team, and absolutely no bowling experience is needed. Many of the interested students have never bowled competitively, and some have barely bowled at all. Everyone would be learning and improving together!

Bowling gives students another way to represent their community, be part of a team and experience competition. The team would compete against other high school bowling teams throughout the Greater Eau Claire and West-Central Wisconsin area.

Interested students and their families are invited to join us:

The Denny Haglund Jr. Memorial Golf Outing and
EPC Wolves fundraiser is in the books! ⛳

We had 143 golfers come through Rolling Greens on Sunday for a great day of golf, raffles, food, and support for a good cause.

A huge thank you to everyone who organized the event, donated prizes, bought raffle tickets, golfed, stopped in, or helped in any way. This outing does a lot of good for EPC Athletics and the Denny Haglund Scholarship Fund, and it is always great to see the community get behind it.

I would have loved to take more pictures, but I spent most of the day in the kitchen slinging just over 160 burgers. 🍔

Thanks again to everyone who made the day possible and helped carry on an event that meant so much to Denny.

LABOR DAY HOURS 🇺🇸⛳

We’re open today, but we’re going to wrap things up a little early so our crew can enjoy what’s left of Labor Day with their families.

Last tee time: 4:00 PM
Clubhouse closes: 6:00 PM

The course is in great shape, so come get a round in this afternoon, then we’re all calling it a day.

The Denny Haglund Jr. Memorial Golf Outing is this Sunday! ⛳

This is always a great tournament, and more importantly, it helps support EPC Athletics and the Denny Haglund Scholarship Fund.

For a small school, fundraisers like this really matter. They help cover things like equipment, uniforms, facility improvements, and other costs that can be tough to absorb.

We still have some afternoon tee times available, so there’s still time to get a group in.

And you do not have to golf to participate. Stop out for the raffles, they always have a great prize table, and grab a cheeseburger with homemade chips for $10.

Come out, support a good cause, and enjoy a fun Sunday at Rolling Greens.
