This 5wt shows how far we can take the custom build, for both performance and aesthetics. Built on a fast action NFC blank, this is a powerful rod that any fly fisherman would love to own. Instead of the usual 9 or 10 guides, we decided to put 15 on this build to reduce line drag/sag and make casting even easier. Did it ever! It’s almost effortless how easy this rod casts for distance and roll casts for accuracy. The foam grip is a larger circumference than usual to match the size of the customers hand. Ergonomics is important and often overlooked in fishing. The grip is way more sensitive than cork which gives the angler better strike detection, and allows him to feel what is going on at the tip of the rod. Built for a veteran, we went all out with a red, white, and blue color scheme. This is an old Fenwick 7 wt that a customer of mine came across. It needed some TLC. The guides were lined up incorrectly and the color profile was drab.
