In light of recent events, we want to share a vital reminder with our community: the well-being of our canine teammates is a top priority.

If you are struggling, please reach out before things become overwhelming. We’re a community who loves our working dogs, and we want to ensure our mushers and their dogs are safe. If we cannot help directly, we will use our network to find and direct you to resources that can. 💜

This is a month of exciting news: one of our club leaders, Jessica Tomkoski is joining the Lucky Fox Coaching team as a coach! What does this means for NC Urban Mushing?

Nothing is changing with our meetups and events, so not much there, we just have more skills and resources for individuals looking for help starting canicross or individual support working toward goals.

Exciting News!

Beginning on September 1st, North Carolina Urban Mushing will offer an OPTIONAL $20 membership to help cover insurance, equipment, and other incidentals that allow us to host more events and activities.

Our weekly Thursday meetups, 3rd Saturday meetups, and races will all remain open to the public (no membership required)

Membership will give members the chance to attend additional events* such as: specialty clinics (like our Intro to Wheeled Mushing for Canicrossers clinic), training weekends (hoping to plan one for October), fun seasonal meetups (like the sled meetups at Umstead), and campouts. As well as the chance to provide input on club events through member surveys during the year.

*Some of these member events will have additional signup fees associated to cover space rental etc

No action is required today, signups will be posted closer to the fall

As a thank you to County of Hoke Parks and Recreation for working with us on our Dryland Race, we're working with them again to offer a community Dog Friendly 5k(ish) Trail Run/Hike.

This will have a canicross class with staggered starts followed by a mass start for the rest of the participants. Registration is open, and more details will be posted as we get closer.
