🌞 Summer Feeding Program: End of Summer Update! 🌞
What an AMAZING summer it has been! 💙 We have officially wrapped up our Summer Feeding Program, and we are so grateful for all the memories, lessons, laughter, and friendships made along the way!
Throughout the summer, our participants enjoyed nutritious meals, fun activities, informational sessions, and many opportunities to learn and grow. We went to the splash pad a couple times, had a movie day, as well as had a field day. It has been so rewarding to watch the kids participate, ask questions, learn new skills, and enjoy themselves throughout the program. 📚🍎
We were blessed to have so many wonderful guests come out and pour into our kids! We had a visit from the fire department, Mr. Terrell from the UTM Extension Office, as well as three additional members from the UTM Extension Office who came and shared their time and knowledge with our participants. We also had a visit from PADD. They came and taught the kids about what mental health was and got the kids to draw what makes them happy when they feel down on a fabric piece for the community quilt.
We also had a special CPR information session where the kids learned the importance of CPR and, most importantly, that they can help save a life! ❤️ Learning these skills and knowing that even our young people can make a difference was such an important part of our summer.
And of course, we had to end the summer with some FUN! 🌺🌴☀️ Our kids enjoyed an End-of-Summer Hawaiian Luau, complete with fun, laughter, and plenty of memories to wrap up an incredible summer! 🎉🍍
We also want to give a huge thank you to EVERYONE who came out, volunteered, donated, taught a lesson, or simply supported our program. We truly appreciate you!
