As we continue building for the 2026 season, we’re proud to introduce some of the people leading Salvo Soccer Club both on and off the field. Their experience spans youth, collegiate, national, and even international soccer—but what unites them is a shared passion for developing players, supporting coaches, and creating an environment where every athlete can thrive.

🧤 Danielle Mendez – Goalkeeping Director
One of the Midwest’s most respected goalkeeper coaches, Danielle has helped countless athletes reach the collegiate and professional levels while raising the standard for goalkeeper development across the club.

⚽ Arent Hiltermann – U8-U10 Director
With more than 15 years of coaching experience and a Dutch soccer background, Arent is helping build the foundation for our youngest players through confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of the game.

⚽ Matthew Cross – Girls Director
With more than 13 years of coaching and leadership experience, Matthew continues to elevate the girls pathway through technical excellence, coach development, and a commitment to long-term player growth.

⚽ Ashley Becker – Girls Assistant Director
A former All-American goalkeeper, Ashley combines elite playing experience with a passion for mentoring players, supporting coaches, and strengthening the girls competitive pathway.

Jeff brings years of experience across youth and collegiate soccer, leading the boys pathway with a focus on player development, coach education, and creating positive, competitive environments.

🌟 Congratulations to Matthew Cross on his promotion to Girls Director at Salvo SC! 🌟

Matthew steps into this role after two years as Salvo SC's Girls Academy Assistant Director, bringing 13+ years of coaching experience across youth, college, and pre-professional soccer. A Salvo SC Girls Academy Head Coach since 2019, he's helped build one of the top girls environments in the region while mentoring players on collegiate and elite pathways. 💚

He's also entering his third season as an Assistant Coach with Winona State University women's soccer, following three seasons at UW–Eau Claire that included back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances and multiple All-Americans developed.
As GM of the Salvo SC WPSL team since 2019, Matthew has led the program to a 2023 National Final appearance and the No. 1 national ranking in 2024. 🏆

With prior leadership roles at Blaine Soccer Club and FC Minnesota, a USSF B License, and multiple United Soccer Coaches diplomas, Matthew brings the vision and experience to lead our girls program into its next chapter.

Here's where and when to earn your spot:

⚽ U9–U12
July 13–15 — Salvo Academy + all Select teams (Rosemount, Two Rivers, Woodbury)
July 18 — Rosemount Select (local option)

⚽ U13–U19
July 25–27 — Salvo Academy + all Select teams (Rosemount, Two Rivers, Woodbury)

📋 A few important notes:

🔹 Rosemount families — if your U9–U12 player wants to be considered for a Salvo Academy team, plan to attend July 13–15. Looking for a competitive but more community-rooted experience? You're welcome at either the July 13–15 tryout or the local July 18 session.

🔹 Two Rivers families — a separate local tryout isn't available this year due to field availability. Please plan to attend July 13–15 (U9–U12) or July 25–27 (U13–U19).

🔹 No need to choose between the Academy and Select pathways before tryouts! Our staff will follow up after evaluations with placement recommendations, options, and next steps.

🌟 Please join us in congratulating Anne Olson on her promotion to Manager of Member Services at Salvo SC! 🌟

Anne's soccer story started right here in our community. At just 9 years old, she laced up her cleats with the Rosemount Area Athletic Association (RAAA) — playing through both In House and Travel programs all the way to high school graduation. Along the way she became a referee and a coach, starting with her younger brother's team and learning the lessons in leadership, dedication, and confidence that still define her at Salvo SC today.

That RAAA kid never left the game. Anne returned to coach with the same program she grew up in, reconnected with soccer through her own daughter's In House program, and built a career in club administration — serving with Farmington Club Soccer, Lakeville Soccer Club, REV, and eventually finding her home at Salvo SC following the merger. She's now spent more than eight years in member services with Salvo SC, and her professionalism, drive, and selfless devotion to our mission are a shining light here every single day.

Anne's journey is a beautiful reminder of the deep roots Salvo SC shares with Rosemount and the families who've grown up on these fields. The RAAA-to-Salvo SC path is one we're proud to celebrate — it's exactly the kind of community connection that makes Salvo SC what it is. We couldn't be more grateful to have Anne growing into this expanded role alongside our exceptional Salvo SC registrars and member services team. 🧡💙
