Productive 2 hours on the water this evening. Four smallmouth, about 10 crappie, and 6 walleye including this girl that I had to release.
I am a bass fishing guide near Eagle River, WI. I love to catch fish on topwater lures, but know many techniques to get them to hit from May to October

Fishing Report The fishing has been real good this past week as the crappie are shallow and spawning now so the catching is easy when you find them. Generally I like shallow bays with weeds on the shoreline to t…

Had a great opener this past weekend. I didn’t think the lakes would be ice free but the dark water ways did open up on either Saturday or Sunday. I caught a lot of everything, including a couple of musky, smallmouth bass, lots of northern, walleyes and crappie. Kept a few for a meal too.

I have fished Trout and Pelican Lakes and they are both great waters. Big and clear, with nice populations of good fish. Both lakes are big and the smallmouth roam from day to day so fishing can be tough, but when you find them it is well worth it. Give me a call if you care to try either of these two fisheries.
Wisconsin’s Best Bass Fishing Lakes and Rivers - Wisconsin Travel Best Bets There are few outdoor pursuits as exciting as bass fishing. Wisconsin is home to both largemouth and smallmouth bass, and you’ll find one or both species in nearly every lake in the state.

My new website is up and running. Check it out at www.cdrdavefishing.com and tell me what you think. The big ones should be hungry now and I can't wait until Saturday which will definitely be a day out catching. Next week I will be out on a few local big fish waters to see how the fish survived the winter. Smallmouth bass are catch and release only up here through mid June, but I haven't kept a bass in about 25 years anyhow. The big fish are such a precious resource so I dont think of keeping them. Also, don't miss out on the season opener special - still a few days available for some incredible action fishing.
Thanks for sharing Patty Kionka Bonack. I'm sure I won't run into many of these guys, they're obviously from Texas.
To kick off the start of the Fishing Opener, I am offering $50 off a full day and $30 off a half day trip May 6 through May 25. This offer is limited to the first 5 people who book a trip prior to the opener. $100 deposit is required to save your date. Call or email me to lock in this special offer.
Getting ready for the opening of fishing up in the Eagle River area, especially with my first season as a fishing guide. Lot's of things to get done before then. I have lots of new lures on order as well as some right handed casting reels (all I use is left). I will just be guiding for bass this year, and may change that in a year or so. Bass are not targeted up here as much as walleye and musky, which makes this a great way to get people out catching, instead of just casting. Give me a call if you want to do some catching.

This beautiful largemouth was caught right at twilight on a topwater bait less than 10 miles from Eagle River. She hit so hard I thought it was a musky. I think she must be 8lbs by now.
