40" of smallmouth...1 rod, 2 flies and conditions that don't happen every year. has made the trek over the last 5 or 6 years to fish prespawn smallmouth. This year he nailed the timing but the weather was terrible...30+ mph wind and 10° falling water temps every night. We prevailed by throwing the donkey rig with Big birds. The rig turned a slow day into a day I won't forget anytime soon. 3 times we doubled up on a single rod. Netting them is the toughest part😅 Even put a dudes first WI musky on the board.
