Raiz Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

09/27/2026

This is a massive milestone for Raiz Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Mateus and Jason are proud to announce that Raiz is officially a Lovato Jiu Jitsu affiliate.

Being accepted into the Lovato family is one of the biggest honors we could ask for as an academy. We’ve worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this happen, and we’re incredibly proud to bring it home to our students.

What does it mean for you? A world class, structured curriculum that gives students a clear path from their first day on the mats through blue belt. Mateus and Jason have both completed intensive instructor training to help every student become a better jiu jitsu practitioner.

And our work is just getting started. We’ll continue traveling to train with Professor Lovato, learning and growing as instructors, and bringing that knowledge back to Raiz. We’ll always have a student mindset, no matter how long we’ve been on the mats.

We’re grateful to Professor Lovato for welcoming us into his affiliation, and we can’t wait to share what’s ahead with our team.

This is a big day for Raiz. Let’s get to work.

Raíz Beginner Kids Team — September

We’re looking for 10 Eagle River kids, ages 7–12, who have never trained Jiu Jitsu before.

They’ll all start together. They’ll learn together, train together, improve together, and have the opportunity to compete together as a team.

Not every kid loves football, hockey, soccer, or the traditional team sports. Some kids just need to find their thing.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu builds confidence, discipline, fitness, self defense skills, and teaches kids how to stay calm and work through difficult situations.

And because this is a brand new beginner group, nobody is walking into a room where everyone else already knows what they’re doing.

*BACK TO SCHOOL SPECIAL!*

To celebrate the start of the school year, we’re offering our Back to School Special!
**Enroll in a month to month youth membership during the month of August and receive a FREE official Raiz Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Gi ($150 value).**
The school year is almost here, and there has never been a better time to give your child a skill they’ll carry for life.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu isn’t just about learning self defense. It’s about building confidence, discipline, respect, resilience, and something many kids struggle with today, emotional regulation.
Every class teaches children how to stay calm under pressure, solve problems, work through challenges, and develop confidence that carries into school, sports, and everyday life.
At Raiz, your child will be taught by Head Instructor Mateus, who has dedicated his life to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. With a lifetime on the mats and a passion for teaching, he’s committed to helping every child grow, not just as an athlete, but as a confident, respectful young person.

Only the first 20 new students will receive this offer. Once the 20 gis are gone, the promotion is over.
No experience is necessary. No contracts. Just a welcoming environment where beginners are encouraged from day one.
Send us a message today to schedule your child’s free trial class.
Confidence. Discipline. Emotional resilience. It all starts with that first step.

What a night! Our first belt promotion ceremony was an incredible milestone for Raiz Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Every person promoted tonight earned it. Their new belt reflects the level they already demonstrate on the mats through their technique, consistency, and character. At Raiz, those three things matter equally, and we won’t promote without them.

We also believe that belts should represent where you truly are in your journey. Our responsibility is to honestly recognize growth, not delay it.

Congratulations to everyone who took the next step tonight. We can’t wait to watch you grow into these new belts.

Raiz’s first Promotion Ceremony is Monday, August 3rd! Come celebrate the hard work, sweat, and progress our students have put in on the mats. Belts don’t come easy… they come from getting tapped, getting back up, and showing up again the next day. Frankly, every one of these promotions is overdue. We’re very proud of this crew and excited for the future.

This Father’s Day, we’re trying something that we feel is missing for most of us right now.

One of the best parts of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is that dads and kids can do it together. It’s one of the few activities where a parent and child can learn the same skill, overcome challenges together, and share the same journey.

So next week, dads train free with their child at Raiz Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

No experience required. No obligation. Just come try a class and see what we’re all about.

Whether your child is confident and outgoing or needs a little help coming out of their shell, Jiu Jitsu teaches discipline, respect, problem solving, and confidence.

If you’ve been thinking about trying something new with your son or daughter, now is the time. Less screen time and more family time is always a win.

Send us a message and we’ll get you scheduled..
