People ask why Scarlett and I chose this way of life....true freedom is very hard to find anywhere....watch this video and you will see the "freedom" enjoyed by both humans and animals...living independent of the "system". The girl that made this video spent a good part of the summer here helping us get through a difficult time...thank you Ms Nicky....I guess that drone followed you right into the arctic entry!

Beautiful day on the Yukon...perfect for training dogs.

Still a few spaces left for experiencing a winter wonderland with great friendly dogs. Check out our website at bushalaskaexpeditions.com

When you are looking for a lead dog in a puppy...you need to find a pup that WANTS to run up front. Maybe 1 in 10...they are "worried" about all the dogs chasing them from behind. We have 2 of them with only an hour or so of training in harness.

Note...at the end the pup in lead continues right on after breaking thru thin ice and into water...Pretty darn good for the first time in lead.

Note...Pantha had some trouble coming down the ramp but that is just how they learn.

A winter look is in the air. The pups on the right side of the gang line (team and wheel) only have a total of about 45 minutes of in-harness training. They are LOOKING GOOD! We need more snow so we can start the real thing with a dog sled instead of the ATV.

Summer was fast as usual and now Oct 18 the world is once again white. But as you can see we and our dogs had several unexpected visitors. A Ross Goose and a Tundra Goose came right into the dog yard and spent time resting up before continuing their individual journey to a warmer winter area. The summer beauty merged with our short vivid fall and we are now looking forward to a great 2026 winter season. Check out our web site bushalaskaexpeditions.com for info on touring. Early February and late March still have space available.

Fine tuning the ice training with the youngsters, at the end of the season. The tip here is to have doggy treats to get the fearful ones out on the ice. The final pic is ... sorry...no more kibble.

Check out https://bushalaskaexpeditions.com for more pics and videos of our world and our tours and our wonderful dogs.

The Bush Alaska Expeditions Dog Sled Tours season has ended and thus the dogs have begun their free time of play and fun until next winter season. Nine adults play today. Tomorrow we will train some youngsters on overflow and ice, free running them like the adults of today. Check out our website https://bushalaskaexpeditions.com for more videos.

Note...the wolverine tracks right next to the snowmachine trail. When a wolverine hops through deep snow he leaves a deep depression and then the sun elongates it into these large holes.

Mushing on the Yukon River at minus 50 F. When you see a contrail coming off of the dogs bodies like this you know it is at least minus 50. Just a short fun run to get the kinks out.
