>>In Chinese tradition, a "Xuesheng" is a student - someone who attends training casually and may come and go as they please. They are not bound by obligation beyond their personal interest.

A "Tudi", however, is something more. A Tudi is a Disciple - someonewho has been personally selected and accepted by a Shifu, or Master. This acceptance marks the beginning of a lifelong relationship built on mutual trust, respect and responsibility.

By becoming a Disciple, you are no longer simply learning a martial art - you are now a living representative of the Chen family's Taijiquan lineage.

Sorry people! We had a late night practice Friday. The detail presented is "insane"! But by phone died, as in dead dead! So I'll have to get pics elsewhere.
Tomorrow it spear class and push hands. It's going to be awesome!

Big weekend coming up! Another workshop in Kansas City (Overland Park) with Master Chen Huixian.
Fundamentals, long form, spear and push hands. Going to be great!
And then something special ...

Lay day of the San Antonio workshop. New Frame and Push Hands. Lot of hard work by participants and instructor alike.

Day two of the San Antonio workshop was intense. While the morning was outside in the park, we were inside during the afternoon session to "beat the heat" spend the entire day on the first five movements. Lots of practice, and tons of personal corrections for everyone.

One more day@

Awesome first day of the workshop. Not for the faint of heart!

Whose brilliant idea to leave this early?

The rules of the game/ sport are the same regardless of the level you are participating on. Hence, there is no Taichi (quan) for beginners, there is just Taichi.
Your understanding and ex*****on may not be what mine is, but time and practice will fix that. Stay the course!
