Congratulations to our newest athletes of the week, Breanna Magnus and Caiden Johnson!

Coach Shadle says, "Bre is a player that always gives 110% whether it's at practice or a game. She plays with heart and determination. Bre is always willing to go to any position there is a need. She does what is needed to better the team. Breanna is very coachable and takes constructive criticism to better herself. She wants to work hard and see results and that is exactly what she is doing. Great job Bre & keep up the good work!"

Coach Spider says, "Caiden did a great job shutting down Sandy Valley's best receiver Friday night. Caiden had 8 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, and 6 pass break-ups. Way to accept the challenge Caiden. Great job!"

Congrats to our athletes of the week, girls golfer Raelyn Griffin and football player Aydan Stephens!

Coach Flanagan says, "Raelyn shot a season low 50 in the victory over Sandy Valley at Wilkshire. Raelyn has been great on the season and is a steady anchor for the Hornet girls golf team. I am excited to see how she finishes the season with her continued excellent efforts!"

Coach Spider says, "Senior #3 Aydan Stephens, had a great game vs Lowellville. He had 12 tackles and 1 assist on defense. On offense Aydan had 6 catches for 83 yards and a touchdown. Aydan has a love for the game and always plays at a high level. Congratulations Aydan!"

Busy week with 4 games in a row. Your EC hornet volleyball team defeated Akron East in 3 straight sets on Monday, and lost to Buckeye Trail Tuesday and Youngstown Liberty on Wednesday in hard fought battles.
Your hornets head to Strasburg today to take on the tigers. Go Hornets!

Good morning Hornet Nation! As we prepare to host our first Friday night football game, the athletic department wanted to remind you of a few updates rolled over from last season for the safety and security of our students and fans:

#1 Passes will be sold at the main gate up until kickoff. Please let ticket takers know you are purchasing a pass before entering. Passes can be purchased with cash or check (made out to Osnaburg Local Schools)

#2 The student seating policy will be in effect beginning at kickoff (7pm). Students will be required to sit in the bleachers - either in the student section or with their friends and family. Announcements will be made throughout the game as a friendly reminder of the policy.

#3 Students are permitted to visit the restroom and concession stand throughout the game, but must return to their seats immediately after.

#4 Elementary students (Grade Pre-K through 5th) must be accompanied by an adult upon entry into the stadium.

We greatly appreciate your cooperation and support in helping us maintain a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone!

Congrats to our Hornet athletes of the week, cross country runner Theo Motts and football player Gub Schrader!

Coach Mizer says, "Theo had a break out race at the Claymont invitational on Saturday, playing a major roll in helping the team to a sixth place finish. Theo ran an all time personal best of 24:49, making a major statement as one of the teams scorers. The Hornets are just getting started, and Theo is one of the key components to a great season!"

Coach Spider says, "Gub has been a great leader for our football team. He carried the ball 34 times vs Berlin Western Reserve and gained 275 yards, 4 touchdowns, and two 2 point conversions. Gub ran like a wild man. He also had 5 tackles and 1 assist. Great job Gub!"

As our athletes of the week continues for the 2026-27 school year, this is just a reminder that we love to highlight our awesome students' wonderful athletic achievements throughout the course of their fall, winter, and spring seasons. We will select an athlete of the week each Monday morning.

Congratulations to this week's athlete of the week, boys golfer Nate Schen and volleyball player Chelsea Steigerwald!

Coach Petroli says, "Nate has improved so much from last season to this season with all of his hard work put in on the golf course. He has led the team and has been instrumental in securing wins for the boys program. He currently possesses the lowest scoring average on the team. "

Coach Shadle says, ""Chelsea is a senior captain this year. She has really stepped up and been a great, positive leader. She takes charge, keeps things on track, encourages teammates, takes time to work with them & does it all in a positive and impactful way. On the court she is a go getter. She takes coaching well and tries to fix things to better the team. She keeps her head up and has a strong mental game! Keep up the good work for your senior season, Chelsea! "
