Join the community and let us help you become a better hitter, remote training now available! 💻 Founder Jimmy Sheppard has instructed players of all ages for many years and has built Elite Diamond Performance based around 3 key principles.

1. INDIVIDUALIZED INSTRUCTION

Every player has different strengths and weaknesses and requires a unique approach to improving. To start, each player is assessed to determine the best course to reach their potential. From there, players are constantly monitored via a variety of techniques to ensure they are moving in the right direction. Whether it be one on one or a small group, each player is trained according to their unique needs.

2. PROPER TRAINING TECHNIQUES

Owner Jimmy Sheppard has spent years researching and learning about proper mechanics and how to improve them. Baseball is filled with theories and hard held beliefs that simply aren't true. Elite Diamond Performance' motto is "train smarter" because training the correct way is paramount to improving your skills.

3. EDUCATION

Elite Diamond Performance is centered around teaching players, parents, coaches and instructors about the game. From learning proper mechanics to learning how to attract attention from scouts and coaches, Elite Diamond Performance is the place to go.

How good are your miss hits?

Without exception, the best hitters we have ever worked with use the ground well. In particular they put a ton of force into the ground in order to get energy to send up the chain to create both a powerful and consistent swing.

One of the big keys to both power and consistency is proper sequencing, ie the hips rotating before the upper body. This is what allows the body to transfer energy from the ground il the chain into the bat. It is also what allows the hands to stay back to adjust to off-speed pitches.

Bat Speed is one of the biggest factors when it comes to good hitting. Swinging the bat faster means a hitter can not only create more power, but also allows them to wait longer before committing to the pitch.

So how do we create bat speed? Start with using the ground. Putting force into the ground is the biggest key for hitters to create bat speed.

Such an honor to have our 2010 Randolph state championship team inducted into the Randolph High School Hall of Fame. Awesome night getting to catch up with such an amazing group of people. This was my first coaching position and was no doubt one of the absolute highlights of my career in baseball.
