Congratulations to James DeMers on his commitment to continue his academic and baseball career at Gonzaga University!

We are so proud of James and everything he has done to earn this opportunity. We’ve had the privilege of watching him grow tremendously over the last couple of years—not only as a baseball player, but as a young man. He has continued to challenge himself, put in the work, and never settle for where he’s at.

James has always had big goals for himself and seeing one of those goals become a reality is special. This opportunity was earned through countless hours of work, a willingness to be coached, and the determination to keep improving day after day.

There is still so much ahead, and the work is only beginning, but we have no doubt James will continue to rise to every challenge and show what he’s capable of at the next level.

Meet Cody Sheldon!

Cody Sheldon brings a lifetime of athletics, hard work, and public service to Granite Peak Athletics.

Raised in Dutton, Montana, Cody grew up playing football, basketball, and track & field before continuing his competitive career at MSU-Northern, where he competed in bull riding on the university’s rodeo team.

In 2015, Cody took that same work ethic to the fireline, beginning a 10-year career as a wildland firefighter with the Montana DNRC in Helena. During that time, he worked alongside Nolan and Casey, and now he’s bringing that experience into a new chapter in fitness and athletic performance.

Cody is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer focused on helping young athletes improve their strength, conditioning, and overall health. He works with athletes to build a strong physical foundation while developing the habits and work ethic needed to perform at their best.

Cody leads the performance side of our Peak Program, helping our athletes continue to develop both on and off the field.

Our Fall/Winter Hitting Series is back at Granite Peak Athletics!

Designed for baseball and softball athletes ages 8–12, these camps are a great opportunity to build confidence, develop better hitting habits, and continue improving throughout the offseason.

Meet Tom Kingston!

Tom Kingston is a Granite Peak Athletics baseball instructor specializing in the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, and throwing, with a focus on helping young athletes build confidence and develop a love for the game.

Baseball has been part of Tom’s life since he was four years old. He spent 15 years playing in Massachusetts, earning Little League state titles at the 11U and 12U levels and a Babe Ruth state title at 13U. He went on to play three years of varsity baseball, Legion baseball as a super senior, and two years of collegiate baseball at Holyoke Community College.

Tom’s coaching journey began when his oldest son, Brady, developed an interest in baseball at just 2½ years old. Over the past five years, Tom has worked with young athletes throughout Helena, helping them improve their skills, build confidence, and develop a passion for the game.

Tom works primarily with youth athletes, focusing on strong fundamentals and helping each player build the skills they need to continue developing.

37 athletes in the building for Day 1 of the Peak Program.

Great energy all night as we officially kicked off Year 3.

What stood out most was the culture. Older guys setting the standard, younger guys embracing the challenge, no egos, and everyone competing while still pulling for the guy next to them.

That’s what this program is about.

Excited to see what this group builds together over the offseason.

Meet Ethan Hoffman, Head Baseball Coach at East Helena High School and a Granite Peak Athletics instructor since we opened our doors.

Ethan grew up playing city leagues in his hometown of Sidney, MT, working his way through Babe Ruth and Legion ball. He headed to the University of Montana planning to play club baseball while earning his degree in Psychology, but a lingering injury from his final Legion season closed that chapter and opened a new one. At just 19, he started coaching Babe Ruth and All-Star teams in Eastern Montana, spending the next five years building the foundation of his coaching philosophy before moving up to Legion ball in 2016 with the Richland County Patriots.

After a short break during the Covid years, East Helena High School brought Ethan on as the program’s first-ever Head Coach. Now heading into year five, the Vigilantes keep climbing and building a reputation as a program on the rise. Ethan also works for the district as a school counselor and Homeless Liaison, and in 2025 he added a Master’s in Kinesiology.

Ethan works with athletes of every age, focused on building consistent fundamentals and setting individualized goals for each player he coaches.

Congratulations to ‘28 C**t LaFromboise (C**t lafromboise) on earning All-Conference honors this season!

C**t works hard to refine his craft both on the mound and in the box. It’s been great watching that work show up on the field this season, and we’re proud to see it recognized.

C**t has a high ceiling with a bright future ahead, and we’re looking forward to watching him keep developing on and off the field.

Congratulations to Walla Walla ⚾️ commit, Sawyer Tackett (Sawyer Tackett) on earning All-State honors this season!

Sawyer put together a standout high school season, taking home Conference Player of the Year and All-State honors, and that level of play carried right over into Legion ball with the Dillon Cubs as a two-way player. The commitment to developing his game year after year is a huge reason why his tools have consistently translated so well on the field.

Sawyer has put in the work to get here, and we’re so excited to watch him take that same drive to Walla Walla.

Congratulations to ‘27 Keaton Troyer (Keaton Troyer) on earning All-Conference honors this season!

Keaton’s tools stand out wherever he plays, raw power at the plate and plus defensive actions at shortstop. What separates him is how those tools show up when the moment gets bigger, and he proved that at the state tournament, earning batting champion honors when it counted most.

That kind of poise doesn’t happen by accident. Keaton puts in the work to be the best version of himself every single day, and we’re excited to keep watching that work ethic show up on the field.
