AWSM at Michigan State

The MSU Chapter of AWSM Our organization provides a great way to learn from professionals, while networking and gaining experience along the way.

The MSU Chapter of the Association for Women in Sports Media is an organization looking for women with a passion for sports and an interest in pursuing sports media as a profession. Meetings will be held every other week in the Communications Arts & Sciences building. Guest speakers will present during each meeting, giving members the opportunity to absorb professional advice and create contacts in the industry.

Last week, members of our E-Board traveled to Los Angeles to attend the AWSM conference!

We had the amazing opportunity to hear from so many incredible professionals in the sports industry through panels and networking opportunities. We were also honored to accept our Honorable Mention Chapter of the Year Award in person! A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this past year so special.

Outside of the conference, we got to attend the The Los Angeles Sparks game on Sunday night and the Los Angeles Dodgers game on Monday. It was so much fun supporting both teams while in LA!

We also had the chance to connect with so many amazing women from other AWSM chapters, including AWSM Susquehanna, AWSM at IOWA, and AWSM Wisconsin. It was wonderful to build connections and share experiences with fellow students!

A huge thank you to AWSM for putting together such an incredible conference. We had an amazing experience and can’t wait to be back next year!
