----- Blizzard update for February 24 2026 -----
No chess this week at EPCC on February 24 due to the blizzard hitting the area on February 22/23.

We only completed two rounds in February due to snow storms. We will continue our February tournament on March 3.

----- Location change as of January 2026 -----

We've recently shifted our game night to Tuesdays at a new location. The East Providence Senior Center, 610 Waterman Ave, East Providence, RI 02914.

We still start gathering around 6:30pm. Arriving early is best because pairings need to be completed by 6:50 so we can start games promptly at 7pm.

We still mostly play USCF rated tournament games. One game per week, usually in month long, 4 round tournaments. Our time control now is G/45;d5 (game in 45 minutes with a 5 second delay).

No chess at EPCC tonight, Thursday May 22 2025. We'll finish our May tournament next week.

No chess at EPCC on Feb 6th due to weather advisory. Winter is coming. Not my fault, blame the groundhog. :)

Start gathering at 6:30pm, set up the room, get games started as soon as possible after 7:00pm

Our December 2024 USCF rated tournament will start Thursday Dec 5th. As usual, we play one game per week with a time control of G/60;d10.

No chess at EPCC on Nov 5th. Our November tournament will start the following week.

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we report the passing our dear chess friend Lou Giarrusso.

Our December 2023 event has been rated.

We will not be meeting over the holidays. So, no chess at EPCC on Dec 26 or Jan 2.

We'll start our January 2024 event on Jan 9. See you there.
