A few words from our dear coach Fernando:

“I want to share that I will be concluding my time as High-Performance Tennis Head Coach at Long Island Health and Racquet on August 14th, 2026. I will be moving to Delray Beach Tennis Center to continue my coaching career and begin a new chapter that I am both excited for and deeply humbled by. Even as I write this, it’s hard to fully express what these past 12 years have meant to me.

This club has truly been my second home. It’s where I’ve spent countless hours on court celebrating victories, working through challenges, and watching young players grow not only in their tennis, but also in their confidence, discipline, and character. It’s where I’ve shared laughter with colleagues and built friendships that feel like family, especially with Tito, Juan Pablo (JP) and their wonderful families, whose support and companionship have meant more to me than words can capture. It’s here that I found purpose, joy, and a deep sense of fulfillment in helping others reach their potential. Every corner of this place holds memories I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to the Romano family for their trust, kindness, and unwavering support, and a huge “thank you” to all the other families for making this chapter unforgettable.

To the coaches and staff: thank you for being my teammates in every sense of the word. Your support, dedication, and passion have made every day meaningful.

To the parents: thank you for trusting me with your children’s development — both as athletes and as people.

To the players: watching you evolve, fight through challenges, and discover your own strength has been one of the greatest joys of my career. You have inspired me more than you can imagine.

Leaving is not easy. It feels like closing a chapter filled with moments that shaped who I am today. But even though I’m stepping away from my role, I’m not stepping away from the relationships, the memories, or the pride I feel for everything we built together. I hope to stay connected, to continue cheering for your successes, and to remain part of this community in spirit.

Thank you for 12 unforgettable years. Thank you for the trust, the kindness, the challenges, and the joy. Long Island Health and Racquet and GSM Tennis academy will always hold a special place in my heart, and I wish the entire community nothing but strength, growth, and success in the years ahead.

Rainy days aren’t stopping us! 🌧️🎾

One of the best things about our Summer Camp is that the fun doesn’t have to stop when the weather changes. With both indoor and outdoor courts, we’re able to keep kids active, learning, and having a great time—rain or shine.

From junior player to Division I tennis. 🎾

Shashank Pennabadi has been training with us for the past 7 years, and today he’s competing at the highest level in NCAA Division I tennis.

We’re incredibly proud of everything you’ve accomplished and grateful to have been part of your journey. Thank you for being part of the LIHR family all these years.

The best part? Shashank is back with us this summer, training alongside our High Performance Academy players and sharing his experience with the next generation.
