I'm excited to introduce our new kids and families program!
Here's one if the many aspects that sets us apart from other martial arts classes for kids:
We DO NOT spend much time teaching kids to kick and punch for self-defense. Let's be blunt: striking alone is a excessive, dangerous and archaic approach for a young child to index on for self-defense.
Instead, we focus on verbal boundary-setting, maintaining safe distances, and situational awareness. We teach them how to avoid and defend strikes and shoves, leading to safe but effective takedowns and tried and true control positions.
We utilize a combination of wrestling and jiu-jitsu techniques that we have mastered through years of training and competition.
This realistic, safe approach also builds strength, endurance, and confidence!
We’re now accepting new students and offering free trials.
DM me for details!

As he should!
One thing about new city jiu-jitsu is we don't necessarily accept anyone/everyone, and we also reserve the right to expel students from the school!
In the four years that my school has been open, I have only had to expel three students and have refused to accept two potential students.
Curating the community is important. A good martial arts school puts contribution first- We genuinely love to give people an outlet for their daily stressors and offer a path to becoming mentally and physically more adaptable but we cannot have asymmetry in that endeavor—
to put an undue amount of energy and effort into an individual who may be causing headaches/issues in our school or who is demonstrating erratic, alarming, or toxic behavior during their intro class is non-negotiable.
