Winter gives players something the regular season rarely allows: time to repeat, adjust and try again.

Across eight weeks, our grade-specific groups revisit important technical actions while changing the space, pressure, decisions and problems around the player.

The goal is to help players use their technique with greater confidence, awareness and purpose.

Our Saturday Game Days are about exploration, figuring things out, solving some problems and learning about the game! āš½ļøšŸ”„

We created Future Stars for one simple reason: smaller groups = real connection. It’s about giving players the space to be seen, heard, and coached as individuals.

Everyone learns at different stages and rates - we want to create environments to help all young players build their game.

Small Steps. Big Futures. āš½ļøāœØ

Generic coaching creates generic habits. A mistake isn’t a setback—it’s data. šŸ“Š

When I work with a player 1-on-1, I’m constantly observing:

ā–¶ļø What triggers their frustration?

ā–¶ļø Is the exercise confusing, or is their self-expectation too high?

ā–¶ļø How can I tweak this session so they benefit both technically and mentally?

My role isn’t just setting up cones; it’s learning how each unique athlete learns. We don’t just build technical skills—we build a healthier response to mistakes.

I definitely don’t get it right every time but I know that coaching is a two-way street, and every player teaches me how to be better. šŸ’”

Eight sessions should not feel like eight unrelated practices.

We plan around actions and ideas that return throughout the program. The space, pressure, numbers or decision may change, but each experience connects to what came before.

The goal is not to rush through a list of skills. It is to help players recognize, adapt and build confidence over time.

Coaching does not always mean correcting an error the moment it happens.

Sometimes, allowing play to continue gives a player the opportunity to recognize what happened, respond and solve the next moment for themselves.

We still guide, question and support—but learning also needs room. A mistake can become information instead of an interruption.

A player’s first touch is not only a technical action. It is shaped by what they see before the ball arrives—the available space, approaching pressure, teammates and their next possible action.

That is why we do not separate technique from the picture around the player. We want them to receive information, make a choice and then execute.

The touch matters. So does the picture that created it.

Players need repetition. They also need to think. šŸ’

Throughout our winter curriculum, core skills will return again and again—but the space, direction, pressure, teammates or opponent may change. šŸ”

The technique becomes more familiar, while the player still has to see the situation, make a choice and adapt.

This is what we mean by ā€œrepetition without repetitionā€: revisiting the skill without removing the problem-solving from the learning.

We believe this gives players the freedom to explore, make adjustments and gradually understand when and why a technique may help them.
