Holiday Party ‘21
Thank you team for all the laughs last night.
We did a Yankee Swap, ate some food, had a drink or two and played Cards against humanity.

The KB rack position can offer a lot more value to our exercise if we focus on how to hold the KB correctly.
A position you’ll often see or maybe you’ve done it yourself, is holding the KB with your elbow out to the side. This can present challenges and place our shoulder in a vulnerable position.
By simply pulling the elbow in you get to improve shoulder stability because of the KB design itself as well as improve core strength. Both (shoulder stability & core strength) are key components to progressing in your lifts.
Such a minor adjust can produce huge upside. Remember small hinges swing big doors.

I have four time saving exercises you can add to just about any program to increase your shoulder mobility.
These four exercises can be done at home or at the gym allowing the flexibility you need to stay consistent.
While there is no silver bullet to achieving more range of motion, one of the key contributing factors is repetition.
So if you sit at a desk all day or if your an avid fitness enthusiast add these to your routine, your body will thank you for it. Enjoy

In our industry exercise selection is often presented as definitive or better than. They‘re typically on different ends of the spectrum and this leads to confusion with fitness enthusiast as to which exercise is best.
I think it’s important we challenge this way of thinking to understand things are not mutual exclusive and there is a ton of room for nuance.
Take for example the bicep curl. In the functional strength training space it’s not an exercise often selected as it doesn’t give the most bang for you buck. But…it can provide a lot of value for someone just starting in fitness to gain confidence with a common exercise while increasing their grip, wrist and arm strength…all needed for compound lifts.
The shoulder external rotation can provide tons of value to the body builder 6-8 weeks out from a show, as their training becomes more rigorous with 2 a days. Maintaining healthy joints are a must in order to make to the stage.
By find more commonalities within our industry things will be less exclusive and more inclusive.
