I am beyond excited to share this build with you. With it, I did some things I didn't know I could do. I'll put descriptions with each of the pictures.
In general, its a St Croix Elite equivalent rod, 6'9" long, medium-light weight, with a fast action. It is commemorating a fishing event being held in Canada this spring.
Take a look at the pictures and let me know what you think. I am trying to spread the word about my work, so if you appreciate it please like and share this post and like the Coaster's Custom page. Thank you and happy fishing!

Here are a couple of ice fishing rods I made this winter. Nice to know they work.
One thing I love about this hobby is being able to use wood from the farm. These handles came from a branch that broke off a walnut tree in our backyard. I left it dry out for a couple of years, use my hachet to make it lathe size, and go to work. The walnut turns beautifully.

Have you ever considered a custom fishing rod to commemorate an event? This rod turned out beautifully, which is quite the opposite of the event it commemorates; an unfortunate incident proving that a boat will float not only on water, but also on a bog. We can laugh now!

I just got back from a trip and want to show some more of my work.
This was a fun rod to build with a random (and challenging!) thread work changing from brown heavy near the handle to green focused at the tip. It has a carbon fiber handle, keeping the entire rod incredibly light weight.

Here is a rod I built for someone who likes purple (don't worry, its not Viking purple). The handle is purple heart wood, lathed down to pair with the cross pattern on the reel seat.

I finally have a chance to post some examples of fishing rods I've made over the last 2 years. Here is an Army themed rod for a friend who is a Vietnam Vet. I turn all my own wood handles, often using apple wood from my apple orchard. My friend helps us out on the orchard and this rod has an apple wood handle.
