*Pluto Water...America's Physic*
Plucked from the shore of the Chippewa River recently! I was so excited when I read the bottle....but then so very confused🤣 This is what folks in EC were taking in the early 1900's! Upon research, I learned Pluto Water was known as "America's Laxative" and was bottled in French Lick, IN from the early 1900's until 1971....when Lithium became a controlled substance! The slogan was " What Nature Won't,Pluto Will." It was named after the Roman God of the underworld!!!! Yikes!!!!(Which explains the little devil embossed on the bottom of the bottle.)The "water" contained sodium and magnesium sulfate, lithium salts and other minerals.
Very,very interesting!

About 4 or 5 years ago I found this pocketwatch by the river! Just laying there in the dirt! Still can't believe I found it! I wanted to open it so badly but didn't want to break it, so it sat on a shelf all this time. The other day I decided it was time to open this treasure up! I did and nothing broke! I knew before I opened it up what it may look like inside....after all it's likely over 100 years old and who knows how long in was in the ground.
Here it is!

Another piece of history I've found by the river! This summer I found this 1930's Re-Cord-O-Coin Safe from the Union National Bank of Eau Claire!!! Unfortunately,it was missing the coin counter, but I was able to find one online and now it's complete! I've put in it all the nickels, dimes and quarters I've found from the riverside along with a few others I've found downtown. Thank you Arletta Gylland Rud for helping to identify this AMAZING treasure for me🙂

Late 1800's EASTMAN photo processing chemical bottle I found just laying in the dirt last month!
Over 100 years ago, photographers used what was in this bottle to process their pictures of people and scenes right here in Eau Claire!!!!!
