June Grappler of the Month: Jason & Autumn Snow!

We couldn’t recognize one without the other because these two are the ultimate dynamic duo.

Autumn has been with us since the very beginning of our kids program, and we can count on one hand the number of classes she has missed during that time. She is a fantastic leader and training partner, never hesitating to run warm-ups, help a new teammate, or step up whenever needed. When you meet Jason, it’s easy to see exactly where Autumn gets her incredible work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to help others.

Jason didn’t join us right away, but it was clear from the start that he was invested. It wasn’t long before he stepped onto the mats himself.

Since then, Jason has become an invaluable part of our team. He jumps in to help coach the kids classes and approaches every child with patience, kindness, and encouragement. It’s been inspiring to watch the transformation he’s made with his health and fitness. As he continues to move, feel, and live better, his jiu-jitsu continues to shine.

Jason brings the same care and thoughtfulness to his teammates that he shows the kids, consistently helping to make those around him better.

We feel incredibly fortunate that these two walked through our doors. They embody everything we hope to build within our community - hard work, humility, kindness, and a commitment to supporting others.

When asked how jiu-jitsu has impacted their relationship, they shared:

Autumn: “We get to work together and learn new things. We hang out a lot, and it gives us fun stuff to talk about outside of class. We teach each other new things, and it’s really awesome.”

Jason: “When I first started taking my daughter to jiu-jitsu, I spent my time on the sidelines, living and experiencing the sport through her eyes. Once I began training myself, I discovered something important: we're on the same journey, but we're traveling different paths. We support each other, learn from the same art, and face many of the same challenges, but our growth and accomplishments belong to each of us individually. I Love the time we get to spend together because every second counts when they grow up so fast.”
