Very impressed with this old Vietnam veteran behind the rifle. At 78 years old he put in the miles and made every shot count — all one shot kills. His longest shot of the trip was 270 yards and it was placed absolutely perfectly. To top it off, we got an incredible old warthog with massive warts and tusks rubbed down from years digging. A true old warrior taken by another old warrior!

Hunting brings people together in ways you don’t always expect. My clients Tim and Danette went above and beyond by donating school clothes and simple board games to 25 kids at Bophelo Children’s Home in Kimberley.

It was a tough one for me, being so far and a long way from my own, but this truly opened my eyes to a whole new perspective.

A big thank you to both of you for your generosity — it means more than words can say.

Because of this, I’ll also be donating meat from the hunting season to the home going forward. Small acts can make a big difference.

Tim and his monster Waterbuck bull to wrap up the hunt on the very last day! We passed on a few good bulls earlier, holding out for something special—and it paid off in a big way.

Patience, discipline, and making the right call when it counts. This old bull had everything we were looking for—mass, character, and presence. A perfect way to end an unforgettable hunt.

Three days of hard hunting and we couldn’t close the distance—every attempt stopped at 500 yards. The herd was on edge, likely with all the new calves around, and they weren’t letting anything get close.

Then things changed.

We picked up a lone, old bull—exactly the kind of Sable you dream of. He didn’t make it easy either, pulling us a couple of miles as he worked his way back toward the herd. At one point, a younger bull took a jab at him, missing his eye by millimetres—but leaving a wound that had us amazed how close it was for him to be blind in that eye!

We stayed with him.

In the end, Tim made it count with a perfect shot—dropping an incredible old bull right in his tracks.

There’s something special about when everything comes together just right. Especially when your first African Animal is a Blue Wildebeest that demands respect!

Cory made a perfect stalk and placed a flawless shot on this beautiful old Blue Wildebeest, threading it right through the brush. A true testament to patience, precision, and respect for the hunt.

This is the animal Matt came all the way to South Africa for, and we definitely did not disappoint! After an intense stalk that had us running, crawling, and eventually finding ourselves right in the middle of the herd dodging Gemsbok, taking cover between thick bushes and dealing with everything the African bush could throw at us… we finally connected on a beautiful representative of the Gemsbok species!
