🥋 Congratulations to all of our Pre-Kyuki-Do students who earned new belts last week! 🎉

For many of these young martial artists, this was much more than a belt test.

It was an opportunity to stand in front of instructors, listen carefully, stay focused, and demonstrate everything they've been practicing over the past several weeks.

At ages 3–6, that's a big accomplishment.

Every new belt represents:

⭐ Growing confidence
⭐ Better listening skills
⭐ Increased focus
⭐ Respect for others
⭐ The courage to keep trying—even when something is challenging

The belt is exciting...

But it's the growth behind the belt that makes us the proudest.

To our students—congratulations! Keep working hard, having fun, and believing in yourselves.

To our parents—thank you for trusting us to be part of your child's journey. Your encouragement and support make all the difference.

When ONE NEW student enrolls in Pre-Kyuki-Do, Basic Kyuki-Do, or Judo, ONE additional NEW immediate family member may also begin training in the program that's the best fit for them.

🥋 Pre-Kyuki-Do (Ages 3–6)
✔️ 6 months of training

🥋 Basic Kyuki-Do (Ages 7+)
✔️ Training through Green Belt

🥋 Judo (Teens & Adults)
✔️ 6 months of training

Every belt represents something much bigger than learning a new kick or punch.

It represents the decision to keep showing up.

To keep practicing.

To keep trying—even when something is difficult.

Every promotion is the result of weeks and months of consistent effort, determination, and growth.

A special congratulations goes to CC, who broke her board to earn her place in our Intermediate Leadership Program! 👊

Board breaking isn't about strength alone.

It's about commitment.

There comes a moment when you have to trust your training, push past hesitation, and commit with confidence.

CC did exactly that, and we're excited to see her continue her journey as she takes the next step into Leadership.

To all of our students who promoted—congratulations! Keep working hard, keep setting the example, and keep becoming the best version of yourself.

Some lessons last a lifetime.

My dad trained in martial arts with me many years ago. In fact, he earned a Blue Belt while supporting me on my journey.

Looking back, I don't remember every class, every tournament, or every belt promotion.

What I remember are the lessons.

Show up.

Work hard.

Keep your word.

Treat people right.

Persevere when things get difficult.

Those lessons stayed with me long after I outgrew the uniforms and the belt colors changed.

As a young Yellow Stripe, I had no idea martial arts would become such an important part of my life.

Today, I have the privilege of sharing many of those same lessons with my own children and with the students and families of AKF Martial Arts Academy.

That's the thing about fathers.

Their influence doesn't end with their children.

It carries forward into the next generation.

The values they teach.

The example they set.

The time they invest.

Those things last.

To all of the dads, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures who continue showing up, encouraging, teaching, and leading by example...

Thank you.

Your impact reaches farther than you know.
