TWO WEEKS AGO TONIGHT... 🔥

This is how TMX started.

Before the competition.
Before the Night Show.
Before the medals, trophies and everything that followed...

UFC fighter Nick “Blue Collar” Klein stepped onto the mats with us.

And what was originally supposed to be one seminar became so much more than that.

Nick didn't just come in, teach and leave.

He trained with our students. He shared his knowledge. He answered questions. He jumped into rounds. He worked with our kids AND adults.

And honestly? He was an incredible instructor.

We knew we were bringing in a professional athlete. What we couldn't have known was just how professional, approachable and genuinely PASSIONATE at teaching Nick would be.

It was most definitely one of the highlights of TMX, and even more than we had dreamed it would be. ❤️

And then the seminar ended...

but Nick didn't leave.

He stuck around for the weekend, spending time with our martial artists and families, refereeing, watching our competitors, joining us for the Night Show and becoming part of the entire TMX experience.

THAT is exactly what we hoped TMX could become.

A place where martial artists don't just watch incredible athletes from a distance...

They get to learn from them.
Train with them.
Talk to them.
And share the mats with them.

Nick, we cannot THANK YOU enough for being such a huge part of Year One and for giving our martial artists an experience they'll remember.

And a huge thank you to Grant at Combat Corner for helping us make this connection happen. 🥊

Now, after Nick spent a weekend supporting all of us, we're pretty excited that it's our turn to cheer him on as he heads back to the UFC Octagon! 👊🔥

Thursday night kicked off one heck of a weekend.

What a year this young martial artist is having. 🔥

If you've been around ZFMA for any amount of time, you already know Kapri spends A LOT of her life on the mats, at tournaments, in airports, eating ridiculously large slices of pizza 😂, hanging out with her teammates, and chasing some pretty BIG goals.

And lately? That hard work is showing.

🏆 Just this weekend, Kapri earned her FIRST Grand Champion title at the Twin Cities Rumble!

🔥 Earlier this year, she became the first new member added to Team Impulse in DECADES.

🌎 And she is currently sitting TOP 10 IN THE WORLD in all SIX of her NASKA-rated divisions.

Six divisions. Six Top 10 rankings. 🤯🔥

Those are some pretty incredible accomplishments.

But they're still only a tiny piece of the story.

Because behind the rankings, trophies and competition photos are the practices, corrections, travel days, friendships, laughs, nerves, ridiculously early mornings, coaches, teammates, big opportunities...and apparently a LOT of snacks. 😂❤️

And THAT is what makes this journey so much fun to watch.

Kapri, we're incredibly proud of the martial artist you are, but even more excited about all the memories you're making along the way.

You've already packed a whole lot into this year...

and somehow, we have a feeling you're just getting started. 👀🔥

When school already started and you’ve got karate championships to win…

🥋 THIS IS WHY WE COMPETE.

Competition in martial arts isn't just about winning medals or standing on top of a podium.

It's about growth.

It's learning to walk onto the floor when you're nervous. To perform when people are watching. To win with humility, lose with grace, learn from the experience—and come back better.

And sometimes, especially for our littlest martial artists, it's simply finding the courage to bow in and say:

“I can do this.” ❤️

These photos from the Thursday night Beginner Divisions at the TMX Invitational are such a perfect reminder of why competition is something we value so much at ZFMA.

We want our students to have opportunities to start somewhere. To challenge themselves. To test what they've learned. To discover what they're capable of.

Because confidence isn't something we can simply teach.

We build it.

One class. One challenge. One tournament. One brave moment at a time.

And that's a huge part of why we host events like TMX, too.

From a Little Dragon stepping onto the floor for the very first time... to seasoned Black Belts chasing Grand Championships... we want to create opportunities for martial artists at EVERY stage of their journey.

Someday, some of these kiddos may be the Black Belts standing in that Grand Championship ring.

And when they are?
