Our first Family Night (For Members & Their Family) BBQ, Paddle, Campout was so much fun and a big success. Members enjoyed the cookout, the moonlight paddle, the campout, and breakfast together in the morning. It was a great turnout and a wonderful way to spend time on the river. We hope to make this an annual tradition.

The Red Dragon Canoe Club is currently accepting applications for new members. Why not join NOW enjoy the rest of the year at a rock bottom price!
There is a wide variety of experiences you can enjoy at the club which is housed in the historic Shipman Mansion in Edgewater Park, NJ. Canoeing, kayaking, sailing, beautiful sunsets, relaxing on the front porch of the mansion, a picnic on the lawn overlooking the river, social events, and so much more. The clubhouse is a beautiful, century-old mansion situated on 6 acres right on the Delaware River. Social gatherings, concerts, dinners, parties, and more throughout the year. Boat & kayak/canoe storage, moorings available, loaner boats & kayaks, mansion rentals for your own private event, and members who soon become friends. Two levels of membership to choose from, both at very reasonable prices! ($225 for social membership - right now $$112. and $400 for full membership-right now $200. This is for the entire family. And there is currently NO initiation fee.)

Dragonfest Free Music Festival is Almost Here and Vendor Spots Are FREE!
We’re looking for local vendors who want to be part of this year’s Dragonfest Free Music Festival. Whether you sell crafts, art, handmade goods, or something unique, we’d love to hear from you.

If you’d like to be considered, please send us a Facebook message with your name, contact information, and a short description of what you’ll be displaying. We love supporting local vendors-reach out if you’d like to join us! Once you do that someone from the Dragonfest team will reach out to you.

Nothing beats seeing RDCC members out on the river, Wilson, you’re making that boat look good!

Did you know that as a member, you can use any of the club boats (sailboats. Kayaks, canoes) whenever you like. And with half‑price dues beginning September 1, this is the best time to jump in, meet great people, and enjoy everything the club offers.

Be part of the inaugural Family Night (For Members & Their Family) BBQ, Paddle, Campout!

The weather looks good and it’s going to be a lot of fun. There is still time to RSVP for the barbecue. Our chefs are getting their aprons ready. Campers are gathering their gear. And the paddlers are getting ready with lights for their boats. We are excited for this new event for our members.

Here are a few details from Reg:

Sat PM - campers set up tents
4:00- start cooking and getting BBQ going
5:00- 6:30- BBQ
6:45- boat prep for 7:00 launch for sunset, full moon paddle.
Sunday AM- Breakfast for campers

The Delaware River is part of our club’s story and this week, it became the place where an extraordinary act of courage took place.
Priscila Alvares Pereira Dos Santos saw a child in danger and didn’t hesitate. She saved a 9‑year‑old girl’s life, but tragically lost her own.
She leaves behind her husband, Alex, and their two young children.

We were proud to show off the Red Dragon Canoe Club and the historic Shipman Mansion at our recent Open House - Come “Check Us Out!” event.

It turned out to be a beautiful, sunny, breezy day, the perfect backdrop for celebrating America’s 250th anniversary and the Red Dragon’s place in that history.

Guests enjoyed guided tours of the mansion and grounds. Members stopped by with friends, and the waterfront was busy with member sailors offering boat rides on the Delaware River. Visitors also tried out club kayaks and canoes, while kids (and a few adults!) had fun flying kites in true Ben Franklin spirit.

A heartfelt thank‑you to all members who were on hand to make this such a special day, including our members in period garb, who added wonderful historic flair.
Thank you to Karen for spearheading the event! And a big thank‑you to Jan and Sue for capturing the photos.
