Hello everyone! It sure has been a while since we last posted, hasn't it? Well, I have some good news: we're hosting an in-person prerelease for the next set, Vivid Voltage!

Here are the details:
- Date: October 31st 👻
- Time: 12:00pm 🕛
- Location: Al's Sports Cards and Gaming in Edmond 🏬
- Price: $20 gets you entry, a prerelease kit, and 3 extra packs 💰
The tourney will be 3 rounds, decks are constructed out of 40 cards and we play with 4 prizes, as per the prerelease rules.

We will only have 20 spots available, so make sure to either arrive early or preregister by RSVPing to the corresponding event on our page!

A note on our Covid-19 precautions:
As you may have thought of, we will be taking multiple precautions to ensure that our gathering is as happy and healthy as possible.
- All attendees must wear masks (as required by the City of Edmond)
- Each match will be appropriately socially distanced from other matches
- Hand sanitizing will be readily available and encouraged for all

We sure hope you will be able to attend, we've all been missing some in-person play. Depending on how this goes, we will try to start back with our usual tourneys as possible.

That's all for now, stay safe, stay healthy, and we'll see you on Halloween!

Don't forget! We have our virtual Rebel Clash Prerelease this Saturday, April 25th at 3:30pm! Check out the event posting for more information. See you there! (Virtually, of course)

Hey, everyone! I hope you are all staying safe and healthy during this crazy time.

We have some exciting news! As you know, we had to cancel our prerelease for Rebel Clash. But! We are going to have a virtual tournament on April 25th at 3:30 pm!

The tournament will be run on Discord and Skype. We will have a voice lobby in our Discord server for the tourney and 2 text channels, one for pairings, and one for the posting of Skype usernames. Once you receive your pairing you will hop on a Skype call with your opponent, play, then report back to the lobby with the winner.

Al’s Sports Cards and Gaming is still going to be receiving the prerelease kits. They will be put on sale this Saturday the 18th at 12pm, for $20. Please, for the first week they are on sale only buy one for yourself, this will allow everyone to get a kit to be able to play!

If you want to participate, make sure to head to Al’s to purchase a kit. You are allowed to open them and construct your prerelease deck, but please, only use the cards from the kit! (You can use any energy you want though) Once your deck is constructed, set it aside until the 25th.

If you don’t know, a typical prerelease deck consists of only 40 cards, not the usual 60. We will play 3 rounds, so build it well!

Sadly we will have no prizes, but we’re glad just to have the opportunity to play.

TL/DR:

Virtual Rebel Clash Prerelease on April 25th at 3:30pm.
Location: Edmond Pokemon League Discord (discord.gg/depypbV) and Skype
Entry Fee: None! Just buy a prerelease kit.
Prizes: Bragging rights!

We hope to see you all there! We will be doing a trial run of this tournament system with a standard format league tournament this Saturday the 18th at 3:30pm. If you can, show up then too! It’ll help us iron the kinks out before the prerelease!

Stay healthy and safe,

2020 Pokémon Championship Series Canceled | Pokemon.com 03/31/2020

* IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT*

As some of you may have heard, The Pokémon Company International has decided to cancel the 2020 Championship season, including all upcoming events. See the article here: https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-news/2020-pokemon-championship-series-canceled/

While this is disappointing to us, we are glad that TCPi has made this tough decision in order to protect the health of all players.

What this means for us:

League is canceled until further notice. We'll let you know once we are able to start meeting again. Due to the shelter in place order put into effect by the City of Edmond we are not able to meet even unofficially for a while, but we will as soon as it is safe! We'll keep you updated.

This also means that our previously unannounced prerelease is also canceled, but Al's Sports Cards and Gaming will be selling the build and battle kits for $20-25. We'll post again once he has them in stock. There will only be 20 for sale, so make sure you get one once they're available.

That you for all of your patience during this uncertain time! We hope to be back to our normal lives soon. Until then, stay healthy, and wash your hands!

Important Update Regarding Play! Pokémon Events | Pokemon.com 03/17/2020

*IMPORTANT ANNOUNEMENT*

Hey everyone, we've got some sad but important news. Early this morning we learned that The Pokémon Company International has decided to cancel all events until May 14th.
You can read the official announcement here: https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-news/important-update-regarding-play-pokemon-events/

What this means for us: we will NOT be having league or any other gatherings until that timeframe. We're saddened by this news, especially because we were just about to announce that we have been approved to host our first prerelease.

Hopefully, this virus can blow on by fast and we can get back to playing sooner rather than later!

But, for the meantime, stay home, stay healthy, and wash your hands!

We may try to organize an online tournament, so keep a lookout for that.

Thanks for all of your understanding!

Important Update Regarding Play! Pokémon Events | Pokemon.com

03/16/2020

We are going to cancel Thursday night testing day meetups for the foreseeable future as Edmond Unplugged is limiting the amounts of people they let in. We still plan to have our regular league events though. We'll keep you updated! Thanks for understanding.

03/14/2020

Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you all know that we are still having our tournament today! We are, like everyone else, monitoring the situation with Covid-19, and have decided we're still okay to play. We do urge you, if you come, to wash your hands frequently, and if you are sick, please please please stay home! As much as we would love you to come, health and safety of our players comes first.

So, if you're healthy and want to play, we'll see you today at 3:30! See the event posting for more information if you need it. See you soon!

03/02/2020

Here's our March 2020 event calendar! We'll notify you if anything changes, but as it stands, this is it for March! We hope to see you when you can come!
-----

An important note: deck testing days are age 16+ due to some players / other customer's purchasing of alcohol at Edmond Unplugged. While there is nothing wrong with this, and we know none of our members would ever do anything harmful, we feel that keeping these later-night testing days 16+ avoids the possibility of an incident ever occurring and keeps our younger members as safe as possible. We are always glad to test decks with younger ages at our normal tournament dates! Thank you for your understanding!
