LPGA Star Calls for All Golfers to ‘Fix the Mess’ After Facing Displeasing Issue

LPGA star Jessica Korda has issued a passionate call for all golfers to “fix the mess” they create on the course, highlighting a displeasing trend of neglected maintenance that's eroding the sport's etiquette. Frustrated by witnessing players, especially young kids, walk away without repairing divots, fixing ball marks, or raking bunkers, Korda urged, “clean up your mess,” emphasizing it takes mere seconds and shows respect for the game and fellow players. Drawing from her junior golf days in the AJGA program, where “take-care-of-the-golf-course parties” were routine, Korda lamented the lapse among newer generations post-pandemic, as public courses see surging crowds Unrepaired ball marks can take weeks to heal, scarring greens and risking turf disease, per the USGA. Echoing pros like Phil Mickelson and Paige Spiranac, she stressed instilling these habits from juniors to pros for discipline and legacy. Korda's plea aims to restore course care amid golf's growth.

This is a reminder that with the date change to Tuesday September 16th the registration for the Ryder Cup will remain open until noon on the 14th.

If you are unable to play due to the date change, please go into golfgenius.com and edit your registration to indicate you are not playing. As of today, we have 15 Ladies signed up to participate so let's pump those numbers up!!!

The formats for both days are below.

Format: 9-Hole matches,
2 matches per day,
Day 1 matches: alternate shot and best ball
Day 2 matches: scramble and individual match play

This is always a great event with light breakfast provided each morning and lunch following play on Day 2.
