The TBA-SA Scrimmages are about growth, experience, and learning. Athletes are matched by age, weight, and experience, giving everyone the opportunity to develop in a safe, educational environment. Every athlete also receives written feedback from TBA-SA officials to help guide their continued progress.

🥊 What to Expect at a TBASA Muay Thai Scrimmage (Parent-Friendly Guide!)
If you’re a parent wondering what a TBA-SA Muay Thai Scrimmage looks like, here’s a quick breakdown of what makes these events so valuable and supportive for our athletes:
🟡 This is NOT fighting — it’s sparring.
Rounds are controlled, supervised, and paced according to each athlete’s age, size, and experience. Safety always comes first.
🟡 Everyone participates.
There are no elimination brackets — every athlete gets at least two bouts, giving them plenty of time in the ring to learn and grow.
🟡 Safety is the top priority.
TBASA officials, coaches, and referees work together to ensure a positive, technical, and safe environment for every participant.
🟡 Growth over winning.
There are no “winners” or “losers” at a scrimmage. The emphasis is on development — and every athlete receives direct feedback through a report card completed by trained TBA-SA officials.
This gives athletes and coaches clear, specific areas to focus on so improvement becomes intentional and measurable.
🟡 It’s all about community.
Scrimmages bring together athletes, families, and gyms from all over. It’s a chance to support each other, cheer each other on, and grow the Muay Thai community in a positive, respectful, and uplifting environment.
Scrimmages are one of the most encouraging experiences in Muay Thai. Kids, teens, and adults all walk away feeling proud, supported, and excited for what comes next.
