Last Thursday I had the joy of serving as a back‑up doula for my dear friend Lauren with Sparrow Song Birth Services while she enjoyed a much‑needed family vacation🏞️. Side note: our doula community here is truly something special — so many compassionate, supportive women lifting one another up. 💜
This sweet couple was preparing to welcome their first baby. At 41 weeks, they were scheduled for an induction that morning, though we'd been communicating through the week and they’d been wrestling with the hope of going into labor naturally and trying to decide what the best decision was for their baby and their family. By the time they arrived at the hospital, contractions had fizzled out, and an exam showed no change from earlier in the week. With intuition and courage, they chose to be admitted and move forward with induction techniques that they preferred.
But birth had its own plan. 🙌🏼😍
Once settled into their room, another check revealed she was already about 5 cm and her water was leaking🤯. I arrived and supported her through movement, position changes, and hydrotherapy as worship music filled the room. Then came a *truly* Holy, unforgettable moment🙏🏼 — her husband gently held her face, singing the words of the song playing. She softened, melted into his hands, and surrendered fully to each wave.😍🥹
From that moment on, her body moved with such grace and ease. She quickly reached full dilation😅, and in a calm, peaceful 25 minutes, she brought her baby boy into her arms. No induction techniques were needed at all.🎉 They trusted her body and it's ability, trusted the process, and followed exactly what each moment asked of them.❤️
It was beautiful. They did it — together. Praise the Lord! What a beautiful gift it is to witness such Heaven on Earth! 🥹😭🥰🙌🏼

5/2/26 Birth Story
This sweet and amazing couple waited so, so long for this first precious blessing. It was such an honor to be invited in as their “expert” 🫠 and to witness the bravery and unity they carried into every step of their journey.
When a medically necessary induction became the clear path, they met it with courage — patient, proactive, and full of grace. After many hours and several gentle attempts to get things moving, their little sugar began showing signs that the prolonged early labor was becoming a tad too much for him. With incredible strength and unwavering love, Mama and Daddy made the thoughtful decision to move forward with a surgical birth, honoring both safety and maintaining the most of their birth wishes.
Mama and baby 💙boy💙 did beautifully. And let me tell you — the entire care team was absolutely smitten with his perfect red hair 😍😍
Thank you guys for trusting me and inviting me into this sacred, long‑awaited, joy‑soaked moment. What a blessing it was to walk beside you.

While I was in the middle of a consult on 4/30/26, I received a message from another amazing doula, Hope Boyer with , asking if I could step in as backup for her clients. It is always such an honor when another doula trusts me enough to care for the families they’ve poured into and built relationships with. 🥰
I was updated that her client was already at 7cm and ready for support 🫠— so I wrapped up my consult, dashed out the door (without my doula bag and still in my regular clothes 🤪), and headed straight to the hospital.
I walked into the most beautiful scene: peaceful worship music filling the room, family members offering steady physical support, and a mama surrounded by prayer. This incredible woman -oh my goodness- she dug SO deep, finding a strength she didn’t even know she carried💪🏼. There was peace, perseverance, prayer, joy, and so much laughter.
At the end of every contraction, she would look up with a smile and check on everyone else in the room — 🥹making sure her support team was fed, hydrated, and cared for. Caring for others is *clearly* her love language, and even in the intensity of labor, it became her way of connecting and coping.
Just a few short hours later, she achieved her desired unmedicated birth, holding her beautiful baby 💕girl💕 and praising Jesus for His good and generous gift.🙌🏼
Hope: Thank you for entrusting these precious people to me. It is an enormous honor to serve alongside you. 🥰
S Family: Thank you for welcoming me into your birth space and trusting me, even though we had never met before. What a leap of faith. God is so, so good and loving!

Motherhood is lived in the quiet, holy moments — the late‑night feedings, the whispered prayers, the tiny fingers wrapped around ours. These small, unseen acts have shaped me more than anything else. Motherhood has been the hardest thing I have ever done… and yet the single most rewarding, fulfilling, and deeply transformative calling of my life. I wouldn’t trade a single moment.🥰
Today, I hold space for ALL you mamas:
- the mamas in the thick of raising little ones,
- the women whose arms ache from loss,
- those walking the long road of infertility,
- the mothers who love through adoption and foster care,
- and the women who mother with their presence, their prayers, and their steady love.
Your story matters. Your love matters. Your motherhood — in all its forms — is seen and held by God. ❣️
Happy Mother’s Day, sweet friends. May the Lord meet each of us gently in whatever this day brings, and may He continue to shape us into the mothers He’s called us to be. Please know that I am So Proud of each one of you!! 🙏🏼😘

4/29/26 😍
This amazingly strong mama is no stranger to physical discomfort. After multiple hospital visits for high blood pressure, she stayed grounded, hopeful, and determined 💛. When it became clear that a medical induction was the safest path, she embraced it and reframed her mindset with so much courage.
Her body needed only the slightest nudge — and then she moved through a 💫 LIGHTNING‑fast 💫 labor, going from 4 cm to baby in arms in just TWO hours. Every single person in the room was in absolute awe of her strength, surrender, and the way she trusted her body.
And Dad… wow. His calm, steady presence filled the room. He was completely swept up in the moment, soaking in every second, absolutely beaming with pride at the power of his wife and the sight of his brand‑new SON 🥹💙😍
Welcome to the world baby B! You have some pretty *amazing* parents! I can't wait to see what God has in store for you!
