🥊 Roots Muay Thai Etiquette Series:

Part 6 – Respect Everyone

Respect isn’t something that’s earned only after years of training.

It’s something we choose to give from day one.

At Roots, we respect everyone who steps onto the mats.

The brand-new student who finally found the courage to walk through the door.

The experienced student who’s been training for years.

The kids learning confidence one class at a time.

The parents who support them.

Your coaches.

Your teammates.

Your training partner today might be helping you tomorrow.

A gym becomes stronger when everyone feels welcome, encouraged, and valued.

Skill may separate experience.

Respect should never separate people. 🙏

DON’T FORGET
MINI’S CLASS MOVES TO 5PM TODAY!

Starting today, our Roots Mini’s class will begin at 5:00 PM and run until 5:30 PM.

We made this adjustment to make the schedule a little easier for our Roots families, so make sure to update your calendars and get those little fighters to the gym for 5PM!

This time change ONLY affects the Mini’s class. All other Roots classes and class times remain the same.

See everyone on the mats!

🥊 Roots Muay Thai Etiquette Series: Part 5 – The Best Students Ask Questions

Have a question?

Ask it.

One of the biggest misconceptions in martial arts is that asking questions makes you look inexperienced.

The truth is exactly the opposite.

Questions show that you’re paying attention. They show that you care about improving and want to understand the “why” behind the technique.

Our coaches would much rather answer ten questions than watch someone repeat the same mistake because they were afraid to speak up.

Nobody walks into a Muay Thai gym knowing everything.

Every coach was once a beginner.

Every experienced student once had the same questions you do today.

Be curious. Be coachable. Never stop learning.

That’s how progress is made. 🥊

📣 KIDS CLASS SCHEDULE UPDATE
THIS SCHEDULE CHANGE WILL TAKE EFFECT AUGUST 31ST
We’re making a small adjustment to our kids class schedule to make things simpler and more convenient for our Roots families.
After discussing the current schedule with several of our Mini's parents, we concluded that a schedule change needed to take effect. We appreciate the feedback from our families and want to make sure our class times work as well as possible for everyone.
Beginning August 31st, all kids programs will now start at 5:00 PM.
🥊 Mini's Muay Thai (Ages 4–6)
NEW TIME: 5:00–5:30 PM
Previously 4:30–5:00 PM
🥊 Kids Muay Thai (Ages 7–13)
5:00–5:45 PM
This class time remains the same.
Having both classes start at 5:00 PM will make drop-off and scheduling easier for families while allowing our coaching staff to run both age groups at the same time with instruction tailored specifically to each group.
Thank you to the parents who took the time to share their feedback with us, and thank you to all of our Roots families for continuing to grow with us! 🌳🥊

Roots Muay Thai Etiquette Series:

Part 4 – Leave Your Ego at the Door

One of the greatest lessons Muay Thai teaches has nothing to do with punches or kicks.

It teaches humility.

Every person who walks through our doors will make mistakes. You’ll miss combinations. You’ll get caught with shots you didn’t see coming. You’ll struggle with techniques that seem easy for someone else.

That’s part of learning.

The students who improve the fastest aren’t always the strongest or the most athletic—they’re the ones who are willing to listen, accept correction, and keep working.

Your ego can convince you that you have something to prove.

Your character reminds you that you have something to learn.

At Roots, we don’t expect perfection. We expect effort, respect, and a willingness to improve.

Leave your ego at the door, and you’ll be surprised how much you grow. 🙏🥊
