Emerald Sea Dive Club SCUBA, diving The Emerald Sea Dive Club is a SCUBA diving club based out of Edmonds, in the Puget Sound area of Washington State. Want to join?

The club is open to all levels of scuba divers (non-divers are also welcome!), however membership is restricted to paid club members. See our website for details - www.emeraldseadiveclub.org. Our club is comprised of members who love to dive the Pacific Northwest (and the world!) and want to be able to both share and participate in that experience with fellow divers. If you are interested in what we are about and what we do, why not come to our next monthly meeting to meet some of the members and find out more? The ESDC meets at 7pm every first Wednesday of the month at Shawn O'Donnell's American Grill & Pub (downstairs in the banquet room), located at 122 128th St SE, Everett, WA 98208, #425-338-5754. We also invite you to check out our Website for further club and meeting details. Want to find out more about what we're up to? For the first time in California, lab-reared sunflower stars are roaming the ocean floor in Monterey Bay as part of a collaborative research project to inform the restoration of this marine predator.

Led by conservation nonprofit Sunflower Star Laboratory, in collaboration with Reef Check Foundation, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Moss Landing Marine Laboratories, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, California State University, Monterey Bay, Phil Sammet’s Underwater Company, and marine operations staff at Hopkins Marine Station Stanford University, this research marks numerous advancements in the fight to save the IUCN-listed, critically-endangered sunflower star.

The series of temporary caged and uncaged field studies have revealed striking results regarding the strong kelp restoration potential of sunflower stars that will help guide the future of their recovery in the state.
