El Campo Derby Doll Booster Club "Once a Doll, Always a Doll" HOW THE DERBY WAS BORN! The Derby hats were first worn in 1967 as the El Campo Ricebirds made the State football finals.

Phil Zlotnick (Zlotnick's Dept. Store) first bought five red Derby's to sell in the finalist race. He increased the orders by 100's each week as the Ricebirds went into play-off's, Bi-Dist, Silsbee, Seguin, and State-Brownwood. His final order was over 5,000 for the Brownwood game. Maggie Little took Phil's Derby home from the first game and made the sequin band. When the Derby Doll's were organized in 1970 the title stuck. Phil's daughter, Terri was in the group for three years until she graduated in 1974.

Derby Doll Friends and Family:

Here’s the link to order this year’s Pink Out shirts! All proceeds will benefit Wharton County Cares, a local non-profit organization that helps cancer patients who reside in Wharton County. 💗

📅 Order deadline: SEPTEMBER 15
This will ensure shirts are ready to be passed out the first week of October!

👕 Shirts are $22 and available in both cotton and dry fit.

Feel free to share the order form with your family and friends! Let’s come together to support an amazing cause and show our community some love! 💕🎀

These girls got the FULL Derby Doll experience! From falling in with the Dolls before the game, to cheering with them in the stands, and then getting VIP access on the field to watch the Dolls perform for the first time this season on Ricebird Field! 📣
