Congratulations Saiya for winning United States Judo Federation’s Athlete Scholar of the Year for 2025 and 2026! This comes with a $2000 award towards the college of her choice.

Saiya has maintained over a 4.0 GPA while representing EBJI at junior national competitions.

In 2025 she won double gold at the United States Judo Federation Summer Nationals in Hawaii.

Earlier this year Saiya tore her ACL at practice and had surgery in early June. Despite her serious injury Saiya has continued to remain dedicated to her recovery and to the dojo.

She remains a leader of this generation of competitors at EBJI and serves as a role model to others at the dojo.

Great job Saiya 👏🏼
