Leon Wade Nomination

Good afternoon. With the blessing of Leon Wade's family, I am nominating Leon for the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame this Monday. I will give a five minute speech on Leon, touching on his many accomplishments, and following my speech, anyone, whether in person or online, may speak for one minute in support of Leon's induction in to the Hall of Fame.

I urge you to please join online if you cannot in person, and please speak in support of Leon Wade. Also, please share this link with anyone you feel that would be a good addition.

This is a post that I definitely did not want to have to make. Out of respect for the family, I have waited to do so…..it is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of Coach Wade. Anyone in the sports world of El Paso, and definitely the track world, knew him. It didn’t matter if you were a part of his team or not, he was going to coach you. His love and knowledge for the sport of track and field was unmeasured. We are all going to miss you, Coach. Please keep his family in prayer at the time.

Congratulations to our very own, Coach Kayla, and her NY Liberty team for their 1st WNBA Championship. No one is more deserving. KT played her heart out ever game and had great impactful moments. El Paso should be proud to call her their own. Once a Shooting Star, Always a Shooting Star!!!!
