At Fyzical Athletics, plyometrics are programmed with intention. It’s not just about jumping higher — it’s about teaching athletes how to absorb force, control their body, and redirect energy efficiently. When done correctly, plyometrics help athletes move faster, react quicker, and perform at a higher level.

Plyometrics are one of the most effective ways to build explosive athletes. These movements train the body to produce force quickly by using the stretch-shortening cycle. This is the rapid transition from absorbing force to producing it. When athletes perform jumps, bounds, and reactive drills, they’re teaching their muscles and tendons to store and release energy efficiently, which directly improves power.

If you are an athlete looking to become more explosive, you need a well programmed plyometric plan.

We would like to highlight one of our Fyzical Athletics Athletes, Emma Villarreal!

Emma is a Freshman at El Dorado High School who had her Varsity Debut last night, pitching 2 innings, throwing for 6 strike outs, and hitting a 2 run home run to close off the game for El Dorado!

Emma has been consistent this offseason, fitting in workouts 3x a week here at Fyzical Athletics. Her improvement in strength and athleticism is surely translating to her in game performance and we are so proud of all the hard work she has invested!

Keep working hard Emma! We are excited to see what you have to bring to this El Dorado softball team 🏆

In-season training isn’t about doing more — it’s about doing what matters most.

For our track athletes, the season is when speed, power, and mechanics need to be sharpened! Smart in-season strength training helps preserve force production, reduce injury risk, and keep the nervous system firing at a high level when it counts. We’re not chasing fatigue — we’re chasing performance.

Championship results don’t come from what you did in the offseason alone. They come from staying disciplined, consistent, and intentional throughout the season. Train to compete. Recover to repeat. Perform when it matters. 🏃‍♂️💨

Halfway through testing week and the results are speaking for themselves!💥

We’re seeing PRs, cleaner movement, and real progress across the board — not by accident, but as a direct result of athletes trusting the process and showing up consistently.

Testing gives us objective data to confirm what the work has been building toward. When athletes stay true to their program, commit to quality reps, and buy into long-term development, performance follows.

The work doesn’t lie. Excited to see how the rest of the week unfolds and to keep pushing the standard even higher. 💪📊

Testing Week is here!
This week isn’t about proving who’s the best in the room—it’s about establishing objective baselines. Speed, power, strength, and movement quality all tell a story, and testing allows us to measure where each athlete currently stands.

Why testing matters:
Data removes the guesswork. By collecting performance metrics, we can individualize training, track progress over time, reduce injury risk, and ensure our athletes are developing efficiently—not just training hard, but training smart.

Progress isn’t accidental—it’s measured.
Testing gives us the feedback we need to adjust, refine, and elevate performance. This is how athletes grow, coaches coach better, and results become repeatable.

Testing begins February 2nd-8th
Come ready to give it your best💪
