Parking Safety No.102

As we assist our participants to park, we like for everyone to understand that the gates close at 7:45 am, SHARP! Why? The main road is closed off for the race. NO VEHICLES will be allowed on the main road once the race starts. This is for EVERYONE’S SAFETY. No one will not be allowed to leave once the race starts unless its an emergency and you’ll be assisted by a police officer.

If you arrived late and the gates are closed, you’ll need to park outside the gates and have to walk/run up to the amphitheatre court yard. It's a long walk to the court yard!

PLEASE DO NOT OPEN THE MAIN GATES AND DRIVE IN! YOU'LL BE PUTTING MANY RUNNERS IN DANGER IF YOU DRIVE IN!

Parking Safety No.101

At the McKelligon Canyon Challenge safety is our priority. Gates open at 7:00 am and you'll be escorted to park. We will have parking attendants that will guide you to park quickly and safely. We ask everyone to respectfully follow the attendants directions. The organization of the parking is so everyone can leave (when the race is over) without any issues being blocked off.

We encourage everyone to arrive on time to get parked and ready to start. There will be only one entrance to the parking area. So we ask everyone to be patience as we assist everyone. If you can carpool with someone please do. If you want to arrive via bicycle by all means please do! If you’re dropping someone off, please exit the main gates before 7:45 am.

FOR NEW RUNNERS:

McKelligon Canyon Challenge 5K course. If you haven't run this race it is wise to run or walk so you can get a feel for the challenges it has.

Runners at the starting line, please be careful when you start running down that part of the road (see map). It's steep and if you don't control your speed you can trip with someone. The yellow marking on the course (see map) is all downhill about 120 yards plus. You pick up speed real fast! Again, watch your speed so that you don't fall.

Walkers always stay on the left so you're not in the runners' way. Safety is our priority at this race so be careful.

Also there are a lot of loose rocks on the road that come from the rains. Watch out for those as well.

Last small uphill on the map on the last turn, a straight away begins and the first light pole on your right is the turn around.

We will be posting a video of the course in the next few weeks. Lookout for it.

We are expecting over 800 runners this year, however it can only happen if you invite your family and friends. Come and celebrate with us our 15th year! See you at the canyon!
