A hitching rail full of quality Foxtrotter mares….. They say you tell a gelding and ask a mare. 🤣
Castlewood Stables is a small 60 acre private boarding and training barn.

This filly is exceptional! I know she is going to make a fantastic trail partner for her owner. I love when foals I raise stay at the barn through riding age. As a breeder there is no better way to see the quality you are raising. It’s one thing if you love the horses you are producing. When you see others love them just as much, it’s an even better testament.

Dasha is the next two year old to be started. She is going to be dad and Emma’s main summer project while I….. work. 🙄
Piper’s last day of staying with us, she had to ensure I gave her one more bath! 🤣 For being a toy poodle she handled farm life pretty well the last month.

I wasn’t expecting to enjoy the ride this weekend because the broodmare I was riding is very green broke. She did surprisingly well and gaits extremely naturally. She may be moving up my favorite riding horse list.

Titus’s coat keeps getting lighter and he has a black stripe down his back. I can’t wait to see his change in color as he losses his baby coat.

Note to self, white dogs do not make for good farm dogs. Poor Piper gets 5X the baths as the other dogs do, just because her coat shows the dirt. 🙈

You get what you give.
This filly has been doing so well that I took it for granted and gave her time off. This last ride wasn’t her best. I caught myself getting frustrated with her regression, until I remembered I’m the one who stopped prioritizing the lessons. I can’t expect her to give her best if I haven’t been giving her my best.
The backwash trough 🤢😆
