💜💛 WELCOME BACK TO PE, ELDORADO ELEMENTARY! 💛💜
I am so excited to welcome our Eagles back for another fun and active school year! 🦅 We have some exciting changes coming to PE this year, and I can’t wait to get started!
🏠 NEW THIS YEAR — PE HOUSES!
Students will be divided into one of six PE Houses: Red ❤️, Orange 🧡, Yellow 💛, Green 💚, Blue 💙, or Purple 💜.
Throughout the year, students will have opportunities to earn points for their House by showing:
⭐ Leadership
⭐ Teamwork & Sportsmanship
⭐ Participation & Effort
⭐ Responsibility
⭐ Positive Behavior
⭐ Being prepared for PE
Our goal is to encourage students to work together, support their teammates, and take pride in being part of something bigger than themselves!
📋 PE GRADING
PE grades will focus on much more than athletic ability! Students will be evaluated on their participation, effort, skill development, following directions, sportsmanship, teamwork, and being prepared for class.
Every student can be successful in PE by giving their best effort, participating, and making positive choices!
🏃♀️ WHAT ARE WE LEARNING IN AUGUST?
Our first few weeks will focus heavily on establishing routines and building our PE community. Students will participate in fun games and challenges centered around:
🤝 Teamwork
🗣️ Communication
🎯 Goal Setting
💪 Cooperation & Problem Solving
👟 PE Procedures & Expectations
🦅 Learning how our new House System works
We’ll be using team challenges, partner activities, cooperative games, and LOTS of movement to help students learn how to communicate, encourage one another, and work as a TEAM!
📸 WE NEED YOUR HELP!
I want our gym to showcase just how active our Eagles are outside of school too!
Please send in a picture of your student/child being ACTIVE! This can be playing a sport, riding a bike, swimming, hiking, dancing, running, playing outside, golfing, jumping on a trampoline—or anything that gets them moving!
📷 Pictures will be displayed inside our gym to celebrate our students and show all the different ways we can stay active!
