🚨ATTENTION:

We have been notified by the local water company that they are responding to a water emergency affecting our community.

The water company has been in direct and consistent communication with the District, and we appreciate their efforts to keep us informed. We have been advised that repairs will require crews to dig up the roadway and shut off the water supply beginning at 12:00 p.m. (noon).

As a result, we will have a HALF DAY OF SCHOOL today.

Because we do not know how long the repairs will take or whether transportation services will be available later today, all athletic practices and after-school activities are canceled for today.

The health and safety of our students and staff remain our highest priority. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and communicate any additional updates through our official communication channels.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support as the water company completes these necessary repairs. We appreciate everyone's flexibility and remain committed to keeping our families informed every step of the way.

August 6th is the date they will be at VUHS to do free physicals. Please call and schedule an appointment if you have not gotten a physical to play sports!

UPDATE - VALLEY UNION HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL:

Valley Union High School has released the attached info-graphic to address the rumors and clarify the current status of their football program.

From the school:

Football has not been canceled, though the school will not have a Varsity team playing this year. Practices are taking place as scheduled. A coach has been secured (Warren Hawkins) and will be presented to the Governing Board through the normal approval process at the Aug 5th meeting. After saying goodbye to 9 graduating starting position seniors last season, the decision to compete at the JV level this season was made with student safety, player development, and the long-term success of the program in mind.

We thank Valley Union for providing this clarification and encourage everyone to read the school's full statement before sharing information so our community has the most accurate picture possible.
