!!!Coach Spotlight!!!
Coach Ben is our head morning class coach and assistant kids coach!

Benjamin Miller was born in 1987 in Sayre, PA. He served in the Army from 2007-2011 as an artillery mechanic stationed at Fort Sill.
He is currently a Probation and Parole Officer with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. He also a serves as the Youth Minister at Fletcher Christian Church. Ben started training with Grind September of 2024 and is currently a Blue Belt. We are lucky to have Ben and his amazing family!

!!!!!Coach Spotlight!!!!!

We want to start putting names to the faces that many of you see everyday! Coach Carlos (no he’s not Professor’s brother even though they are same color, height, weight, and tattooed) Newman is an Assistant Coach for our kids program. Day in and day out he shows up voluntarily and genuinely cares about the kids and this team. We couldn’t be happier to have him and his family with us. Not only is he a coach but he is a competitor and a darn good one at that. This photo was him winning gold in the Gi just days after a nasty cut on his forehead in training led to stitches. This is an example of grit, determination, sportsmanship, positive mindset, and embracing the GRIND!!!!!

Carlos Newman born in July 1989 in Los Angeles, CA. Served in the Army from June 2007 and will retire in September 2027. Joined Grind jiu jitsu on November 2025 after his son, Oliver had been training for 6 months. Currently has both children training at Grind, Oliver is a grey white belt and Abbi started training full time in July 2026.
Has competed in 3 tournaments, AGF 2 bronze, Newbreed 1 bronze, NAGA 1 gold and 1 silver.
